Summary
Just as Genesis came to terms with the people he lost being really gone forever and begun to move on, even started to let himself have a thing for the reclusive blond hero of this alien future, he's ripped away and thrown back into the life he half-wished a thousand times he could go back to in moments of despair and nostalgia. But now it’s oh so different because although he's gone back to the time he can never really go back to the time. He's a different person now but the people he never really stopped loving, who died or were lost and are now standing before him again exactly the same as before you lost them, don’t know that. They could never understand even if he told them. He can’t even apologize for all the ways he hurt them because it wasn’t them. All he can do now is gather all that splintered guilt and try to shape into something resembling a warped shield (he's never been an expert at that craft—a project this complex requires far more skilled hands than his scorched ones, but he's all there is) and make sure it doesn’t happen again. All he can offer any of them is this nameless haunted thing he calls love. Will he desperately try to go back to who he was or will he hope they can learn to love this new him?

Summary
They certainly hadn't expected to see a purple, humanoid figure curled in the shadow of a decaying alcove, face buried in the bundle of his arms and knees drawn tight to his chest. Violet veined wings trembled as their owner sobbed silently.
“Wemmbu?” Wato questioned, just to be sure. The last time she’d seen him like this (the only time), he’d been actively starving to death, abandoned and alone in their escape room. It had been so long, and he was normally so unapologetically alive, that she had nearly forgotten.
Wato stumbles upon an unexpectedly distressed Wemmbu. Neither of them really know how to navigate the ensuing interaction.

Gengeal week 2025, Day 6: Joining the Dots
Very few people have ever seen Angeal Hewley be anything less than perfectly honor-bound and composed. (Most of those people are in Banora.) Fewer still have been able to provoke him into such a state. (One, mainly—a certain redheaded expert in the field.) Kunsel presents, collected from multiple sources from the depths of his gossip hoard, a rare one of these incidents as witnessed in the halls of SOLDIER: The Great Spice Pursuit; or, Why We All Had to Evacuate the Floor That One Day.

Even the greatest heroes cannot be strong all the time—they are, despite partial alien DNA, still human. These are some of the times they have relied on each other.

It starts as a routine. Steve drives past all their houses, just to make sure they're home. And then it's not so easy to sleep any more without checking and rechecking.
Eddie catches him out.

"It’s not ideal, keeping these recurrent headaches a secret from all of his friends, and sure, Steve's had his fair share of days where he’s been forced to just work through the pain, but he’s making it work. He’s managing.
He’s fine."

Summary
O! how shall summer's honey breath hold out,
Against the wrackful siege of battering days,
When rocks impregnable are not so stout,
Nor gates of steel so strong but Time decays?
- William Shakespeare, Sonnet 65On the worst day of their lives, as they fight to kill each other atop the walls of Gondolin, Idril, Tuor, and Maeglin find themselves flung into the future and separated. Tuor wakes in a sacred pool, Idril in mountains full of shadows, and Maeglin (still holding Eärendil) right near a stronghold of Men.
Faramir would like to know why someone is in the Forbidden Pool right after he got Gollum out of it, Frodo would like to know why this elf-lady is reacting so strongly to them calling upon the Light of Eärendil, and Éowyn would like to know if this elf will lend her his armor so she can sneak out to fight...

It's the early Second Age and Idril is worried about her grandsons. In the course of this she waylays new arrivals to Valinor, tries to find her footing with her own grandmother, schemes with Tuor, Finrod and Glorfindel, and finally sets a plan into motion.

Summary
“You can be my trusted adult,” Dustin cuts in.
Steve blinks several times. “Huh?”
“You’re an adult,” Dustin says, like he’s talking to a three-year-old.
“…yes, Dustin.”
“And my mom trusts you.”
“Yeah, but…wait.” Steve sits back up, ramrod straight in his chair. “You’re not suggesting…”
“Come with me to New Zealand,” Dustin finishes, then adds a quieter: “Please?”
***
When Dustin Henderson parent-traps Steve and Eddie into taking him to New Zealand for a holiday and some Lord of the Rings sight-seeing, Steve's forced to confront the reality of what he really wants out of life. Is it working for his father in a job he despises to afford his sky-rise apartment in Chicago and the status that comes with it, or is it something else, something simpler, something truer to himself? On the windy back roads of New Zealand, amongst the most stunning scenery he's ever seen and with old flame Eddie Munson in his passenger seat, he figures it out.
