Embrace the downtrodden. Remember the tormented. That is the vow the Salt of Solidarity has taken, and it will stay with him until death does them part.
Still, he alone. A great Virtue surrounded by those not burdened with the same power he wields, the power that could destroy his whole world. It is destroying his world.
Then he finds the faerie kingdom, and the ruler of faeries himself. And there, Salt finds more then a king. He finds someone who wants to change the world the way he does. Someone who can. He finds someone who will become his friend, his lover, his partner.
Solidarity will not be his virtue. It will be his downfall.
Solidarity will not be his death. But perhaps it should’ve been.
It would’ve been better that way.

This arrangement Golden Cheese has with Burning Spice is... annoying. Doable. Tolerable, for the most part. Fun, even, if she dared to admit that to anyone, whether that be herself or her friends (or worse, Burning Spice). But annoying. Very, very annoying.
Especially when she has to go do it before she even starts her day properly. But fine, very well. If he wants to disrupt her prized morning routine in the service of his own selfish desires, then she's going to make him face the consequences.
