“Wait, wait.” Lucifer stops her, shaking his head and blinking like he’s just been woken up. Was he . . . was he not listening to her? “There’s going to be more than one?”
“I mean . . . yes?” Charlie gives him a look. “It says so on the missive, down at the bottom. They don’t want to send Emily on her own, so someone else is coming with her to stay. One of their higher-ups.”
“But—Sera—”
“Oh, no no no.” Charlie laughs, probably way too nervously. “Not Sera. I don’t think she’d, ah, do too well with our little crew. It’s a different seraph, I think. Exciting, right? The Archangel—”
Lucifer finishes. “Michael.”
In the beginning, the first murder was committed between brothers. Lucifer was . . . not surprised.

Lucifer is very aware that certain aspects of personal grooming tend to go out the window for him on bad days (or weeks—or months). He does his best to keep up with it—he really does! It's just that the more visible things like his hair and clothes get priority, and by the times he realizes what a disaster his living space has become, or even worse, his wings...
Things were easier when he was living alone and there was nobody else around to notice things like the powder down that he scatters all over the place when he hasn't preened himself properly in too long. At least, they were until someone reaches out a helping hand.

The first thing she noticed is that the TV was gone. Well, not gone. It was off the wall, instead against the wall and covered in a lace blanket. The Xbox unplugged beside it.
She paused mid step, looking around.
The lights were off, the switches taped down. Instead the rooms lit by candles. Flickering softly in brass holders. Smelling like beeswax and… maybe cinnamon?
From atop the bar, grainy music came out of a gramophone. Like, an actual goddamn gramophone. It wasn't something she recognized, definitely not anything modern.

Kai doesn’t believe in fate. Not at all. The idea that there’s some sort of invisible power pushing events in the universe to happen is entirely ridiculous to him. He’s not one to say, “science would say otherwise,” but he’s never really believed in magic. And to Kai, the idea of a destined outcome to life is impossible, weird, and a bit creepy. So he doesn’t believe in fate.
And yet somehow, every other time he goes into an airport, he manages to keep running into the same damn guy.
