Summary
He sighs, frustrated, with the world, with himself, with the stupid, mediocre beer he’s drinking that cost him twelve damn dollars, before tip even.
“The club isn’t the problem,” Eddie mumbles, staring across the dance floor, where Buck is curving his hand around the woman’s head and whispering in her ear.
“Is the problem that your wingman is a traitor?” Ravi asks, snickering at the sight.
“No. The problem is I don’t want to pick up women.” Eddie really hopes that’s enough information. Ravi is a smart guy. He kind of hopes he’ll piece it together. Though another part of him, a soft, new part of him, hopes Ravi doesn’t. He hopes he has to say it. He should probably get some practice in, right?
Ravi looks at him then, studying him. “You’re really happy being single?”
Eddie exhales. Smiles small and shakes his head.
“No, it’s not that,” he says. “I’m just gay.”
OR Eddie comes out at the club during 9x07. Just not to Buck.

Summary
"I hope I die first, you know," Buck breaks the silence, turning to face Eddie and propping his elbow over the back of the couch. Eddie looks over with a confused look on his face, encouraging Buck to elaborate. "Everyone inevitably leaves in some way-" he starts, but Eddie cuts him off. "I thought we were past this already, you know why I had to go-" Eddie says, but Buck interjects. "No, Eddie, I am past that. I really am. What I mean is, someday, everyone is leaving. There's no way around it." Eddie sighs and shakes his head. "You know I'm not going anywhere, Buck." "That's a promise you can't make," Buck snaps back, looking down at his bottle. "There's only one of two ways that this ends. Someone dies or someone gets hurt. I'm just saying, if one of us dies, I hope I die first." Buck looks up at Eddie, who's already staring at him. Eddie holds his eye contact and Buck swears he sees something unfamiliar flicker in his eyes. "How about neither of us die," Eddie chuckles, looking down in his lap, "Not anytime soon at least." He fiddles with the beer bottle in his hands. Buck just turns back to the tv, lets out a quiet laugh, and says, "Yeah."

Summary
“No, we’re not looking at this from any point of view, we’re closing our eyes! This is not logical, it’s–”
“It’s love, honey.”
And fuck his life, BJ couldn’t argue against that. He felt whiplash as he turned to look at her with dread and guilt, shame and desperation. His feet halted and stayed put as if nailed to the floor.
“I’m sorry, Peg, I’m so sorry.” He felt his throat close up, every apology he could think of insufficient.
“I’m not.” She got up, taking his shaking hands in her firm ones and gently guiding him back to the chair. She kneeled before him, like she’d done that dreadful day. “It is what it is, BJ. And it could be way worse.”

Summary
“You don’t get to say I stood there and smiled,” Eddie growls into his mouth. “You don’t get to pretend I’m not fucking gutted.”
“You’re leaving me!” Buck gasps against his lips. “You’re leaving and you didn’t—”
He steps forward again and Buck leans back, head knocking against the wall, his entire frame vibrating. He tries to find his words—some mix of I’m sorry and you didn’t give me a chance but none of it makes it past his lips before Eddie shoves him again, hard enough to rattle the wall behind him, an effort to keep him quiet.
“Don’t,” Eddie snaps. “Don’t you dare make this about you.”
Buck’s eyes go wide, mouth parting on instinct, throat aching from everything he’s choking back. He’s so close to saying it anyway, whatever it is, whatever would push this over the edge, but he doesn’t get the chance.
Eddie’s fingers skim Buck’s lower lip, pausing there. “Open your mouth,” he rasps, cutting through the last of Buck’s defenses, “and shut the fuck up.”
Or,
Eddie's moving to El Paso, and Buck goes through the five stages of grief while sucking his dick.

Summary
When Buck deems he’s finished with the application, he pulls back and skips a breath at Eddie’s freshly painted eyes.
Buck hadn’t really been paying attention to how Eddie looked, he was too focused on applying it neatly so he didn’t accidentally stab Eddie in the eye.
If Buck was entranced by Eddie’s normal eyes without makeup, Buck can’t even begin to describe the shellshock of seeing those eyes coated in mascara. And Buck, stupid Buck, who can’t hide his feelings, utters out a soft “Eddie,” with an equally gentle smile on his face.

Eddie is trying to be a good father, one tube of mascara at a time.

Summary
“Buck,” she laughs, “here.” She takes Buck’s hands and brings them up to rest on Eddie’s thighs. “Better?”
Buck’s hands flex before settling, gripping Eddie’s thighs lightly. She doesn’t open her eyes once, but there's a small furrow in between her brows, like she’s deciding whether or not this was something that was okay for her to do. Eddie is glad for once, to not have her best friend's eyes on her, because she can feel her face heating up as Buck slowly explores her thighs.
Despite wearing jeans, Eddie can feel Buck’s touch as if it were on her bones. Her fingers dance up and down, rubbing gentle circles on her thighs before climbing up towards her hips, wrapping around them and squeezing lightly.
“Better,” Buck breathes out, words shaky.

Summary
“Hey, what– oh.”
Eddie startles and drops the letter, head snapping up to look at Buck with his heart in his throat.
“Shit.” Eddie scrambles to pick up the pages, folding them back up with shaky hands as he stands. “I’m- sorry. Sorry."
Wordlessly, Buck takes the pages from Eddie.
“Oh,” Buck says again, voice small. His face goes carefully blank as he scans the first page quickly. “I forgot about this thing.”
“Buck,” Eddie says, voice thick with emotion.
“Hey, it’s okay,” Buck says, smiling without his eyes. He’s not looking at Eddie when he laughs suddenly, stilted and awkward. “Guess I didn’t really figure it out, huh?”

Summary
“I love you,” Buck had said, a small, soft smile on his face.
And Eddie was aware that Buck and Maddie had been saying ‘I love you’ more to one another and that had extended to the 118 when the news Bobby was alive had come around. So, Eddie had simply grinned back and said, “I love you, too.” Accompanied with a slap to the arm.
Staring up at the ceiling of his bedroom two days later, Eddie realised with horror that Buck had been confessing his love. And Eddie had given him a bro slap.

Summary
"Want to tell me what happened?"
Eddie doesn't. In fact, he can't think of anything he'd want less. Yet, there's something in her voice that soothes, just a little, the inferno and eases the anguish. He exhales.
"I just got angry. I'm not sure why. He didn't do anything wrong." Eddie is a monstrous creature baring its teeth. A shapeless shadow made from broken bones and despair. He's barely human. He's a child dressed in his father's too big clothes choking on his own words. "I don't know what's wrong with me."
Maddie hums thoughtfully, understandingly, "it happens sometimes. We all have bad days, Buck understands that. I'm sure it'll be all forgiven by tomorrow"
A guttural groan claws its way out of him. Maddie takes it for the what if it isn't that it means.
"Come on, you're Buck-and-Eddie! Nothing could ever pull you guys apart."
OR; Eddie breaks a glass and Buck fixes it: an exploration of Eddie's struggles with anger, joy, and himself.
