I can feel it. I can sense when death has been near, when the air feels heavier, like something is about to happen.” She shrugged, a self- deprecating smile on her lips. “I guess it's something I've always carried. People think I bring it with me. But I'm just different, and they don't like that.”
Agatha stared at Rio, the words sinking in. She had always felt alone, always felt that no one could understand her. But here, in this moment, Rio wasn't running. She wasn't whispering behind her back or treating her like a monster. -
