Luffy didn’t even look him in the face before kick-starting this one, just smiled to himself, lost in an unknown world, and Law was already preparing to jump overboard and join him.
Or
Luffy and Law swap hearts before leaving Wano because that is a perfectly reasonable way to handle your crush sailing into the opposite horizon in the morning. And because their entire relationship is based off of one of them going 'get in loser, we're going to upend the natural order', and the other sliding into the passenger seat with takeaway coffees already in hand.

Summary
“Gomu Gomu no…Pistol!”
Luffy’s fist hits the boulder with a satisfying crunch, destroying the top half of it completely, and Ace feels pride fill him as Luffy lets out a loud cheer at his success.
“Not bad,” Thatch mutters consideringly, and Ace smiles proudly as Marco nods in agreement.
His little brother has grown strong.
He’d be lying if it didn’t make him feel relieved.
Luffy’s about to rear up for another punch to destroy the rest of it, still not having noticed them, (Ace snickers internally at the fact that his brother is just as spatially unaware as he used to be), when Ace calls out, “Don’t mess up!”
Luffy, of course, completely messes up, punching way wide and almost punching himself in the face as he whirls around to face Ace. He looks eerily like his seven-year-old self as he stares at Ace, his confused head-tilt on full-force. Then, recognition shines in his eyes, and Ace grins as his little brother’s face lights up, a beaming smile appearing on his face.
“Ace!”

Sabo may have been a bit unstable when he agreed to rescue the kid.
Well, calling him a kid is a bit of an exaggeration – he isn’t that much younger than him. Still, that insane marine – Coby, he learns – stood between his little brother (the one he abandoned don't think about it–) and an admiral, protected him and risked his life for his enemy, and Sabo has to meet him.
Saving him seems like a good start.

Not drop-drops. He lands fairly light on his feet, right in the middle of their main deck, making Usopp shriek and Sanji swear and Zoro grab for his new swords. Nami simply freezes, because one, that is definitely Not a marine uniform, and two, she’s the only one in a position to see their captain’s face light up.

Summary
“Fuck,” is all Ace can say, when they’re finally left alone in a literal frozen hell.
“S’cold,” Luffy complains, slumping against him, and Ace automatically tries to hug the twelve year old. The chains binding his arms makes it a little trickier than usual, but he manages it, tries to tuck Luffy as much under his torn shirt as possible. They’ve gone through plenty of winters back on Dawn with decent snowfall, but apparently the Fifth Level of Impel Down is way worse.
