Summary
Wade is contracted to kill Spider-man, but after some surveillance he decides the hero is just too chill to kill. Too sweet to defeat. Too squish to extinguish. Too golden boy to destroy. (Etcetera.)
Somehow, instead of blowing up in his face, it avalanches into a tentative friendship filled with crime-fighting, Netflix bingeing, top notch take-out, city-saving, shenanigans, weird alien symbiotes, and personal growth.
Which is pretty much when Wade knows he’s fucked. But like, maybe in the good way, for once?

“Hiya, Peter,” Deadpool is standing there in all his red and black glory, sounding deceptively cheerful. All too cheerful, in fact, for a gun resting against one muscular thigh and a hand reaching back to, no doubt, grab a katana. “Peter Parker,” Deadpool continues, saying his name like he wants to bite into it. It’s actually kind of hot. God. Focus, Peter. Is Deadpool seriously going to try to kill him now?
All too late, Peter realizes that Spider-Man never responded to Deadpool’s messages.

When he's blackmailed by, of all people, a weird work acquaintance who needs Spider-Man gone for obviously illegal purposes, Peter is forced to hang up the suit- at least temporarily -until he can resolve the situation. Unfortunately, things start to get sticky when Deadpool, who Spider-Man's been on-again off-again with (okay, yeah, lowkey messing around with), crashes into Peter's life and demands the photographer help him figure out what's got his favorite webhead so spooked.
Peter's life is really weird.

"I'll give you $500 if you let me kidnap you and use you as a hostage for… oh call it 25 minutes? Easy money, right, kid?"
"I'm not a kid," Peter replies, immediately. Without thinking. Typical Peter Parker.
Luckily, Deadpool has bigger problems, on many levels, and doesn't notice that Peter's reaction to being propositioned for a temporary hostage situation is almost as odd as the proposition itself.
"Okay, fine," says Deadpool, checking back through the emergency exit he just barged in from. "Let’s make it a thousand and I'll call you Daddy, how's that?"
Deadpool pays Peter Parker to pretend to be his hostage, and then Peter sort of ends up sleeping with Spider-man’s best buddy Deadpool. Things only get more out of control from there.
A comics-verse fast burn conflagration of idiots to lovers and identity porn set just after Spider-man/Deadpool #50 and during the post-Hydra-Cap fallout.
Note: this is comics canon so Wade and Peter are both in their late 30s.

“Top-secret mission,” mumbled Deadpool through a mouthful of quesadillas-plural. “I’d tell you, but I’d have to kill you.”
Peter lowered his voice surreptitiously. “Does Santa need you to save Christmas?”
Deadpool laughed so suddenly that Peter half-expected him to choke. “Do not count on me to save Christmas. If Christmas ever needs saving and I’m the only man for the job, it’s going the way of the dodo.”
“Cheers to that,” said Peter, raising his soda cup, and Deadpool readily knocked it against his own in agreement.

Due to a series of plot contrivances and cheesy tropes, workaholic reporter Peter Parker is whisked out of New York for Chanukah and transplanted into a small Midwestern town that's totally cuckoo for Christmas. The only thing making it tolerable is charming, smooth-talking man-in-flannel Wade Wilson, the only other person in town who seems utterly disinterested in the holiday.
Due to an unrelated series of plot contrivances and cheesy tropes, it seems they've met before.
