Summary
Lucanis snapped his head in that direction, feet already moving, as Rook swayed, stumbled backward, and fell.
“Rook!”
Lucanis caught him as he went down, shoving his arms beneath his shoulders. He stopped Rook’s momentum before his head could hit the broken paving underfoot.
Rook was completely limp, out cold. Lucanis searched frantically for evidence of a wound, expecting an arrow—but he had been watching the crowd. He hadn’t seen anything.

Following the battle with Elgar'nan, Rook takes a spontaneous nap, the team pulls together to take care of him, and Lucanis and Spite handle their accumulated trauma differently. A continuation of the previous fic in this series.

Professor,
Overheard you discussing Dalish funerals with Bellara when I was speaking with Rana at the Wall of Light. I remembered a scroll that the Veil Jumpers unearthed that had sat in storage waiting to be catalogued correctly. I’m no translator, but my ancient elven is half-decent and I happen to have an interest in and personal connection to Falon’Din.
