Summary
Theo was never one for writing fiction. He could read novels, and he could tolerate short stories, but he was always fond of essays, nonfiction. He could develop critiques of society, he liked reading well structured arguments and analysis, written matter of factly and not hidden between metaphors and subplots. They were tedious to get through, boring, cheesy, and he often thought them a bore.
Recently however, Theo found himself writing poetry. In between long hours of pressing down on blank pages and sewing them one by one –distracting himself through repetitive, incessant actions– he would sit down, his hands itching to dirty themselves with ink.

He feels inadequate seeing her like this – the last couple of weeks he has been able to almost forget the invisible ocean that exists between them. Now he is too aware of his shabby clothes and his ink-stained hands. Eloise is lovelier than any flower he has seen. And she would probably roll her eyes if he were to say so out loud.

She’d forgotten, in how quickly she’d grown to trust him and all the chaos that had surrounded him ending up in the 21st century, how little he actually knew about her. It had been a long time since she’d laid this all out to anyone, and she knew it wouldn’t be on the table for discussion if she wasn’t sitting here, staring at her entire life in documents and data, attempting to make what would hopefully be the last identity she had to give herself.
She just had to give herself the courage to actually make the damn thing first.
