The great Valentino, the man who took hell by storm, a part of the most influential and dangerous trio in hell, and (unofficial) partner to one of the most powerful overlords, afraid.
Because their brand, as Vox constantly tells him, is perfection.
Despite the flaws and grits underneath, they always present a shiny finish. Harmonized and unstoppable. It’s only within the private walls of their home when they allow themselves to be anything else.
This image, as Val has been told, is what gives them their power. It’s about the trust and fear they’ve built within Hell's ever changing community. It’s what allows them to be on top. There is no room for anything less than perfect.
What would happen when Val isn’t perfect anymore?

Valentino has always had shitty eyesight, but what would happen when he finally went completely blind?

Summary
“So. Dying huh?” The man has a showman’s smile, one Val can recognize at a glance, “That must be awful. Tell me, friend, how long do you have?”
Before Val can answer, the man speaks up again.
“That was a rhetorical question; I already know. You have fluid in your lungs, and like three other diseases in your system, which are figuratively and literally eating you from the inside out. You’ll be lucky if you even last the next few hours, let alone to the morning.”
How does he-
“But I can help,” the man leans in, his showman’s grin widening, “I can get rid of that pesky disease for you, it’ll be like you never even had it. For ten whole years as well, that’s practically a lifetime!”

Summary
“Val.” The tone Vox uses is perhaps too sharp, and the media demon quickly backtracks, “I just… I don’t get it.”
There is a moment of silence, and for a second, Vox wonders if Val had just opted to ignore him when the other speaks up.
“I…” Val hesitates, like he does when he doesn’t quite know what to say, “yeah. I’m pretty fucking mad at you. I mean, how could I not be? You treat us like assets instead of partners for weeks, downplay the work both Velvette and I did to hype up your rally, tried to fucking kill us-”
Val’s arms are trembling, and that ugly feeling Vox cant quite name builds up in his chest. He doesn't even realize Val had stopped talking until the silence catches up to him.
“…Val?”
“…But,” Val breathes, “you also tried to kill yourself. And I don’t like that.”
The words are quiet. Vulnerable. Vox wants to turn his head to look at his business partner, but Val’s thin arms are strong enough to hold him in place.

Summary
If there’s something Val learned pretty early when he first met Vox, it was that dumber was smarter.
It’s a pretty simple formula, really. But effective. The more airheaded he comes across, the more Vox opens up. But then, Val notices a pattern.
Vox’s plans always work. Never in their -is it seven years now?- partnership has Vox ever dragged Val’s hesitant ass into a battle they didn’t win.

5 times Val went along with Vox’s schemes without question, and the 1 time he finally questioned it (but stayed anyway)

Summary
Being with Val is nothing like how being with Alastor was. Val demands to be treated like a princess, even if most of the “tasks” he asks of Vox are easily things he can do himself.
Alastor never needed Vox, but Val sure as hell does. Despite everything, it gives Vox… sort of a responsibility over the other demon. One that requires him to protect and look after Val, to keep him happy.
Val makes the most money when he’s happy.
Besides, seeing that wide eyed toothy smile on the moth demon’s face isn’t exactly a chore. Val almost looks cute when he’s happy, and the warm feeling in Vox’s chest when he sees that smile isn’t exactly unpleasant.
OR
Vox loves Alastor. He also loves Val, though he doesn't know it. Things are complicated and he's not a dame who's good at feelings.
