"So, I guess we'll go?" Louis asks later, when Harry has calmed down and eaten his weight in Chinese food. He plays with this chopsticks, spearing another piece of chicken and pops it in his mouth. "I mean, I wouldn't mind. We could make it an adventure."
Harry observes him, watches him seated across from him on their old living room carpet, with a container of food on his lap. He's fidgeting, avoiding meeting Harry's gaze–he probably knows that Harry's mad at him for ruining the one chance they had to get out of this situation. And he's not wrong, Harry is definitely very mad. Harry wants to strangle him and castrate him and smack him upside the head.
But he's also Harry's best friend, and despite everything, despite all the fuck-ups and the plot twists and everything just not playing out the way it should, he'd still rather be stuck in this situation with Louis than any of the other boys. He's got Harry's back, and in a weird, abstract way, he knows they'll be able to get out of this situation, together.
Harry sighs. "We're going," he says resignedly, his shoulders slumping.
Oh well. There are definitely worse ways to spend the weekend than pretending to be engaged to his best friend.

Louis grabbed the nearest pen like he was considering a murder. “Say princess again, I dare you.”
Harry’s grin went downright evil. “Princess.”
“You’re insufferable,” he hissed. “Actually insufferable. If you vanished tomorrow, I would personally throw a parade.”
Harry leaned in again, chin propped on his hand, dimples in full force. “Cute parade? Pink streamers? Princess-themed?”
Louis made a sound that was halfway between a groan and a scream, grabbed his notebook, and buried his face in it. “I hope you fall in the fountain on your way home. And then get pneumonia. And then fail your finals.”
Harry beamed at him like Louis had just proposed marriage. “God, you’re adorable when you threaten me.”
Or- Louis is just trying to graduate without losing his mind — but apparently the universe has other plans, because Harry keeps showing up in the uni coffee shop, grinning like he’s flirting on purpose (he definitely is). Between coffee shop bickering, campus fair chaos, and way too many run-ins with the man, Louis’ biggest problem isn’t hating Harry anymore… It’s pretending he doesn’t want to climb him like a tree.
or- Louis and Harry don’t like each other. Or so it seems.

“No, no it’s fine.” Louis rubs the back of his neck a little awkwardly. “I guess I’m just not used to hearing another alpha talking about taking a knot is all. You caught me off guard a bit, but I don’t mind.”
Harrys look of embarrassment soon morphs into a smirk. “Not a lot of knot talk in the locker rooms then?”
Louis laughs. “Oh yeah there is. But it’s more like arguments over whose is bigger and that.” He schools his face into what he hopes is an over exaggerated, self-righteous expression. “But not me of course, because I’m proper evolved.”
Harry snorts out a laugh. “Of course you are.”
(Or the one where Louis is an alpha who does manly alpha things like play professional football and lift weights at the gym, where he meets alpha Harry who wears nail polish and dates other alphas. Louis isn’t put off by Harry’s strange tendencies, more like intrigued. And maybe just maybe, he’s interested).
