ghostly ghouls get game by sargeantwoof
Fandom Game Changers | Heated Rivalry - All Media Types

Summary
imagine Heated Rivalry but with a slapdash of magical realism, ghosts, and the slowly dawning realization of just how much Shane and Ilya have to gain, if only they could figure their shit out. featuring: the most supportive team in the world (the Bears), the seething underbelly of malice (Montreal), and three tiny babies (boston's rookies), who just want to meet their stepmom.

Summary
“That’s not-” Shane starts, but he stops himself. Ilya tilts his head slightly in question, but Shane bites the inside of his cheek and then shakes his head slightly, cheeks flushing. “I do trust you,” Shane says.
“But not with your car?” Ilya asks. “You are afraid I will drive all the boring out of it?”
Shane rolls his eyes.
“It’s a good car-” He starts in another refrain of one of his favorite summer songs.
Ilya rolls them and pins his boyfriend under him before he has to hear about four wheel drive and gas mileage again.
There are far better uses for Shane’s mouth, after all.
(in which ilya learns that being a passenger in the car knocks shane tf out)

Summary
It's Shane Hollander's first season in Ottawa, and the whole Centaurs roster is playing better than they ever have. So why won't the press focus on that? Why do he and Ilya keep having to answer questions about their marriage, and not get to talk about the incredible start to the season that their team is having? Maybe if they do one podcast, with hosts who are normal people, they can just tell their whole story and focus on bringing the Stanley Cup to Ottawa.

or, Shane and Ilya do a sports podcast run by lesbians for members of the LGBTQ+ community, and the internet reacts.

Summary
ILYA: For a long time… this was something I kept locked in my chest.
His hand presses lightly against his sternum as he says it.
ILYA (CONT'D): I could not talk about Shane. Not to teammates. Not to media. Not even to friends sometimes. I lived in fear - fear of losing hockey. Fear of losing respect. Fear of losing him.
Shane, noticing his anxiety, reaches for him - pulling Ilya's hand into his own, running a thumb across his knuckles
INTERVIEWER: And now?
Ilya’s expression changes. It brightens, not theatrically, but genuinely. It’s like a cloud clears away, and for a moment he looks radiant.
ILYA: And now… Now, I finally get to live in the open. I am very excited about that.

Summary
Shane was still angry. Rozanov’s plan had been to, what? Seduce him so they’d bond? He hadn’t even though to ask Shane first! Shane should get up and walk away and let his dad take him back to Russia and lock him away. Then Shane wouldn’t have to bond with him. Shane didn’t want to bond.
But Shane had told Rozanov they’d be a team, just the two of them, and Rozanov seemed so scared and vulnerable. But Shane had started thinking about what they could do, the two of them on the ice, bonded. He’d had wingers he’d connected to before, who seemed to be able to read his mind. How much more incredible would this be, someone who’d always know where he was, what his intentions were?
“No one can know,” Shane said.
