Summary
This work will serve as an adaptation of the popular television show "Stranger Things". Disclaimer: I own no rights to the Stranger Things universe or content, this is a work of fan fiction for non-profit distribution.
This work will largely depict canon events from the show 1-1 canon/as is. Any deviations during this time frame that don't reflect the original intent of the original content creator may include but are not limited to; insight into character thoughts that could or could not be canon, bonus or elongated scenes that may serve to bolster original canon events or lead to alternate ending and details of surrounding places or people that may or may not originally exist or matter but may enrich the story.
Alternate ending begins after/during season 4ish. May contain some elements of season 5, then switch up entirely. bread crumbs will be slid into earlier seasons. #conformitygate. It is mostly for the satisfaction of MYSELF. Approach with caution and open mind.

Summary
“Thanks for taking care of me, Mike. I didn’t mean to drink this much.” Mike locks the dorm door behind him with a quiet click. He turns to see Will swaying against the wall. “You know, I could’ve had Carlton walk me back. If you wanted to stay at the party.”
Mike laughs, low and sharp, taking a deliberate step closer. “Yeah, I bet he would've loved that. And, please... stop saying his fucking name, okay?” His voice rises, strained with a tension he can’t hide. Other names in Will’s mouth twist his stomach in ways he can’t explain.
Will swallows, gaze dropping. “Sorry, I just meant…I’m so happy you’re here, but I know you’re not just here to see me, and you probably want—”
Mike cuts him off without a second thought. He grabs Will’s arms, and shoves him lightly but firmly against the wall. Their chests collide, faces inches apart, the air between them charged and electric. Will freezes—but Mike doesn’t back down. “Will…you have no idea what I want,” he whispers, eyes dropping to Will’s lips. Every shred of control he’s ever clung to around him melting.
And there truly must be something in the NYC air, because Mike from Hawkins would have never dared to do what he does next.

Summary
Spring settles over Hawkins. Will is back - alive, but distant. The silence between him and Mike is louder than anything the Upside Down ever threw at him. Living in the Wheeler basement, surrounded by ghosts and half-erased sketches, Will survives on sarcasm, avoidance and the steady refuge of Robin Buckley, all while trying not to think about Mike (and failing).
Meanwhile, Mike is convinced he’s fine too - until a school camping trip forces them too close for comfort. Shared space turns into shared warmth, lingering touches and feelings Mike refuses to name. What follows is a slow, aching orbit of jealousy, miscommunication, accidental intimacy and truths buried under scribbled-out words and unspoken looks. As the distance collapses into something impossible to ignore, both boys are forced to confront what’s been there all along.
