"Rumi's first recital," Mira reads aloud, a smirk curling around her lips as she realizes exactly what they've found.
Rumi pales. "Oh no."

On the screen, Mira sees herself and Zoey, clearly not actually them, moving through the choreography Mira made, and Rumi looks so lost that it stabs into Mira's heart.
It's not us, Mira thinks, Rumi has to know it's not us.
Zoey and Mira both say Rumi's name as they watch Demon-Zoey shove Rumi, and Mira's only thought as she runs is that Rumi thinks it's them.
They make it onstage just as the demon version of themselves pull at Rumi's jacket, revealing her shoulders before ripping it off completely.
Mira can't remember the last time she saw Rumi wearing anything that showed her shoulders. Even in rehearsal and training, Rumi only ever wore shirts with longer sleeves and hoodies, but as her jacket falls, Mira sees them.
Patterns.
The lights go out once the song ends, and Demon-Zoey and Demon-Mira join Jinu at the end of the stage.

She’s meant to start working tomorrow and she hasn’t even met the executive chef yet, outside of traded emails where she was swayed by the promise of full autonomy into leaving her position as pastry chef at one of the only restaurants in the city with three Michelin stars for a fledgling fusion tapas joint sandwiched between a pierogi stand and a vape shop on the lower east side that got an upstart Michelin star in its first year of operation.

Kim swallowed hard before answering, trying to muster the strength to utter an impossible sentence. There was a pause long enough to warrant Shego's voice again, "What's the matter, Pumpkin? Cat caught your tongue?" It was practically a purr.
In a voice that cracked with fear and hoarse with pain, Kim could only manage one word.
"Shego..."
There was a brief pause. Somehow, the line became cold, and before Kim could finish her meek sentence, the other woman spoke.
"Where?"

“I do not know about the Greeks,” Randvi says, stepping closer to Kassandra. She traces a finger over the defined lines of her chestplate. “But we Norse are not so bound by propriety as the Christians. Eivor and I are tied by love and promise, but that does not mean we cannot share in pleasure with someone we both desire.”

The woman snorts and nods, downing her own shot and reaching for a handful of nuts from a nearby bowl. “Yeah, ‘spose I should’ve guessed.” At Beatrice’s curious look she elaborates, “well with you walkin’ in here with them hips and that gun belt, not to mention the suit because-” She whistles lowly under her breath, “my lord above, you certainly ain’t like no lady I’ve ever met.”
