Summary
It’s the spinning that does it. Eddie couldn’t look away if someone paid him. Every single time it happens, he just stops what he’s doing and stares. Drooling.
Before, it was just kitchen utensils or the baseball bat. Now...now it’s at band practice every day.
As it turns out, Steve can actually keep rhythm really well and while he can’t read music to save his ass, he understands beats and notes like a natural. The problem is- the problem is, that he keeps spinning those fucking drumsticks and Eddie’s gonna jizz in his goddamn jeans one of these days.

Steve is a fighter. A soldier when it comes down to it.
He fights, he gets hurt, he gets back up, and he kills whatever Upside Down monster he gets faced with.
So… why doesn’t he ever win fights against people his own age? Easy enough to answer; he doesn’t want to kill them.
TL;DR - Steve being a total badass and a little “scary” for four chapters.

As in the chief police officer?
The confusion went on as they kept talking amongst themselves, random names–Max, Henry, El–and references she didn't understand. The only relief Barb had was that everyone else in the cafeteria was just as miffed as she was, eyes wandering towards the odd group that Barb was apparently stuck with.
The fight with Vecna goes wrong, but everyone gets sent back in time to 1983. The Fruity Four don't give enough fucks to act like their past selves.

Summary
Soulmates are a funny thing, and no one really knows exactly how they work, but Steve knows who his are. He still has Robin, but he’s spent years mourning a relationship he never got to have, plagued by dreams of what could have been if only Eddie had lived.
By some stroke of luck he winds up with the opportunity to go back in time and save Eddie in 1986. The universe is giving him hints, he just has to figure out how to decipher them.

Steve thought it was a dream the first time, a vision or a memory, his mind playing tricks on him. It felt cruel, seeing Eddie again so long after it all happened, years after he’d come to terms with the fact that 1, Eddie was his soulmate, and 2, his soulmate was dead.

Summary
1987 went to shit. Vecna brought on what may well be the apocalypse, and Steve fought it to the end. Literally.
Death was supposed to be a one-way street. But knowing a girl with super powers had a tendency to change the game. So when Steve opens his eyes to a beer-soaked bathroom on Halloween in 1984, Nancy calling him 'bullshit' all over again, the universe might forgive Steve for thinking he was either a) in Hell or b) going cracked. But Steve didn't have time to freakout. Not when El finds him and asks that he help her change the events of the future. Not when he's the only other person she managed to drag with her for chance number two.
OR: A time travel fix-it, where 1987 Steve is dropped back into his 1984 self. And now he has to deal with that plus the impending apocalypse on the horizon. But he'll be fine, right? Because, as El informs whoever asks, Steve's 'The Babysitter'. So he gets to work. He can cry later, when he's done.

“Steve,” Eddie started, “I didn’t-”
“You didn’t what? Notice? Care? Nobody does!” Steve said, throwing his hands up, “I mean, do you how long it’s been since someone said they loved me? Even my parents can’t be bothered to say that shit! I have been waiting years for someone to notice that I"ve changed! That after everything I’ve been through, I’m still here! I’m not some idiot who peaked in high school!”
Caught in the insufferable silence, all he could do was cry.

He saw himself, lying in Dustin’s arms, covered in blood. His eyes were wide open, staring into nothing. Unblinking. Eddie could feel bile rising in his throat. That was him. His body. He was dead, but somehow he was still here, still around.
Eddie sat down hard on the ground, eyes still glued to the pair in front of him.
“Fuck.”
