Summary
How To Train Your Dragon AU: Valka and Hiccup were both taken the night of the raid. Hiccup is raised in a dragon nest alongside Toothless. Epic adventure and friendship ensue.
"The little dragon crooned softly, pupils dilating as he nuzzled against Hiccup's cheek. My son giggled, reaching his arms up over his head as he attempted to pet the Night Fury. I simply sat back and stared in amazement at their interaction. The hatchling took one of Hiccup's arms in his mouth, chewing softly. I gasped, jumping forward to push him away, only to notice that the dragon had no teeth. "What the...toothless?" I murmured in confusion. I could've sworn the other baby dragon had teeth. This one tilted his head, glancing up at me with an expression that read, 'you seriously thought I was gonna bite him?' I relaxed with a chuckle, letting him do as he pleased. If anything, Hiccup was enjoying the hatchling's attention, and kicked his legs happily. "Well, Toothless, meet my son, Hiccup," I introduced with a grin."

Summary
"Exile still seems the best option, Stoick..."
Stoick should have known better. While he didn't know much about his son-especially now-he knew the boy was clever. It should have been no surprise when a guard burst into the Council Meeting and revealed that Hiccup had escaped the cell Stoick put him in...hours after the boy was revealed to have saddled a dragon.
Hiccup is gone, and so is the beast.
They search, but do not find him. Berk falls asleep one night and awakens in the Great Hall, where the torches come to life and cast an image of their isle on the wall, from which floats Hiccup's voice, years younger.
AKA, Hiccup forfeited the final challenge, leaving Astrid with the right to kill the Nightmare. Story picks up in the Race to the Edge era, except Berk never learned the truth of dragons, no one knows how Hiccup really lost his leg, and stories of a hooded 'vigilante' riding a Night Fury have been long whispered...and Berk will see it all unfold.

“It-it’s not attacking us.” The boy hatchling murmured. The chief didn’t seem to hear him but the girl hesitated at his words, looking cautiously at the Night Fury like she couldn’t understand him anymore. But the Night Fury couldn’t care less because he recognized this voice. It sounded like the voice from just a few moments ago – the Viking who came looking for him. He narrowed his eyes at the Viking who gulped loudly and looked guiltily away, as if sensing the blame the Night Fury was aiming at him. “Oh, this is a nightmare…”
Right before he gets found out, still tied up in the woods, by the Vikings, Toothless is being taken to a room with an adult Viking and two hatchlings and they all watch scenes from the future that might just change their perspective about everything they know to be true.
basically, me writing a Watch The Movie/Series fic of httyd with my favorite scenes because I'm bored!
