Dragons, well known by their nobility and inherent beauty, are born with the task to serve for a kingdom from where they come from.
Their mission? That has been unknown for centuries, however, all of them are characterized by one and only quality: loyalty. Loyalty throughout a kingdom that receives them, through their caretakers or even the kings itself.
What could then, take a dragon to break that instinct?
"D-do you love me...?" Phainon nodded. "In what way...?"
He pulled away for a second, licking his lips. "I don't know. I only know that I love you, Mydei." he replied with sincerity, resting his chin on his knee and looking directly into his eyes.
"Hks... You can't say something like that so lightly." He brought his hand to his face, trying to hide the evident blush on his cheeks.

Or, approximately four months after Amphoreus welcomes the new dawn, Mydei wakes up with an odd golden mark burned directly into his abdomen, identical to the symbol of Worldbearing.
Naturally, he does not, in fact, ask Phainon about this phenomenon. Instead, he discusses with the Trailblazer, obtains terrible advice, and goes on the worst railroad trip of his life.
