Inspired finally by Tumblr post, although that idea appeared long ago.
Someday Jin Ling will hear about his jiujiu's heroic deeds during the Sunshot Campaign and his role in the elimination of evil Yiling Laozu — and will be fascinated of his bravery. Someday he will know the rumors in Junmeng Jiang Sect about Sect Leader's deep hatred to all cultivators, who chooses unorthodox paths — and will admired his determination to protect his people from evil. Someday he will decide to ask his jiujiu to tell him more about this — just to appreciate his courage, confidence and power.
But what he will hear from Jiang Cheng, could not correlate to rumors at all.

Shen Jiu’s body froze instinctively as he readied himself for a blow.
But it never came, because when Shen Jiu managed to look up, all he could see was a man’s broad back swathed in black robes, his grip tight around Qiu Jianluo’s wrist.
“Qiu-gongzi, what could ever make you think that a charlatan like me wouldn’t want this boy as his disciple?”

“What does that have to do with me?” Liǔ Qingge cuts in, Shang Qinghua nearly leaps out of his skin.
Shen Qingqiu chooses that minute to speak up, though he can’t tell if this is better or worse. “Binghe is still a disciple of Qing Jing Peak, so he has a martial family.” He insists with unusual force. “Liǔ Qingge is his Shisu.”
The demon grumbled something under his breath, Shen Qingqiu swats him over the head with his fan and the demon has the audacity to pout, Liǔ Qingge barely noticed however, his thoughts are loud but formless, it feels like blood is rushing in his ears.
Another stretch of heavy charged silence drags on as Liǔ Qingge realizes what Shen Qingqiu is speaking of with dawning horror.
Maybe he does want to die after all.
