the cold, bitter air blew forces against albedo's body, but he just sat there on his rock.
his energy to move, to do anything, had been shattered, evaporated.
albedo was not new to emotions, they had been with him for so long... it was the only part of him that was relatively human.
his own brain played with him, mocked him. it begged albedo to do something, anything, but his body didn't listen. all he could do was sit in the cold and ponder, ponder on everything going on inside of his head.
albedo was most certainly awake, but he didn't feel alive.

Instead of turning up to Olivander's with a snowy owl in tow, Hagrid decides to take Harry to 'Bartlenie's Beasts', his favourite magical menagerie, so that Harry can chose his own friend.
This is a little fluff fic with the premise of Hedwig being a magical snake because I wanted the Harry has a pet snake trope without removing Hedwig as I have a soft-spot for her.
