Yelena Belova wasn’t someone who got attached easily. She had been trained to silence emotions, sever ties, disappear. She was a Black Widow, after all.
But there was something —someone— she couldn’t get out of her head: Kate Bishop.After that night on the rooftop, when she failed to complete her mission to eliminate Clint Barton thanks to (or because of) that irritatingly optimistic archer, Yelena hadn’t planned on ever hearing from either of them again.
But Kate clearly had other plans.It started with short messages: “Thanks again for what you did about my mom,” “I know you probably won’t read this, but…”
Then came the photos —a new café she’d discovered, her getting ready to graduate from college, a dog (Yelena assumed it was the same one the archer rescued at Christmas) wearing a ridiculous scarf.
Small, ordinary things that a normal person might send.
Yelena read every single one. Without replying.Without deleting the number.She didn’t know why.Basically, what happens after Hawkeye and during the events of Thunderbolts. How Yelena and Kate begin a friendship, and as their bond grows stronger, how Yelena deals with these new and confusing feelings toward Kate.
