Summary
Hermione instinctively takes a step back. “What are you doing here, Malfoy?”
“It was you this whole time?” Rage deepens his voice. “Are you fucking kidding?”
“What?” Her head begins to feel light and woozy. The eucalyptus scent. It’s him. It’s Malfoy, not the old tenant.
Oh no. She raises her hands to cover her mouth and nose, her fingers cold and shaking.
“You’re not—”
“You can’t—”
They speak and stop at the same time. His lips thin and his pupils have blown his grey eyes to black. Neither makes a move to say anything again, instead measuring each other from the safety of their respective doorsteps.
It’s been years since she’s seen him, and it’s awful how good he looks. And smells.
Shit.
Shit, shit, shit. He’s an Alpha? And her neighbour? Gods, this can’t get any worse.

And so, Draco has decided, in the amount of time it takes her to describe the concept, that his New Year's resolution will consist of one lofty goal: to woo Hermione Granger.
All he has to do is navigate decoy, mid, and quarter year resolutions, join a fantasy (American) football team, train for a sprint triathlon, keep an overbearing Theodore Nott away from Granger, and dodge suspicious looks from overprotective Potters.

Draco Malfoy does not want to be back at Hogwarts, but the terms of his probation are very clear. Finish eighth year, pass your NEWTS, and make amends. Failure to complete any of these tasks will result in a one-way ticket to Azkaban. He wants to keep a low profile, polish off his stash of Ogden's FireWhiskey, and finish off his stupid Ministry mandated apology tour with the final name left on his list.

Summary
After many months of self-denial, Hermione receives an envelope of explicit photos of her and a one night stand she had four months earlier.
She could have ignored what seeing those photos made her feel, but the vile message attached that threatened to leak the photos to the press was the catalyst to accept the truth. Hermione has a stalker.
Her reputation had struggled in the last year, as well as some of her confidence.
When she seek's Harry’s advice, it is sad, but honest. The ministry is in turmoil as crime is on the rise and targeted muggleborn attacks are spreading. Harry suggests hiring a private investigation firm that he's worked with in the past and Hermione reluctantly agrees.
The P.I. handling her case is, none other than Draco Malfoy, the man in the photos from her one night stand.
As their path takes sharper and darker turns, Hermione and Draco have to risk their own secrets coming forth to keep each other and the rest of the ones they love safe.

Hermione begins to feel it, begins to feel the tickle of energy in her fingers, her breath picking up. She wants it. She wants to play with fire. “I didn’t know Death Eaters begged.”
Then she’s on her back on the table, her breath knocked out of her and Malfoy’s barreling down on her, his hand around her throat.
“Careful Granger,” he growls, “you’re saying the quiet part out loud. We’re all supposed to be making amends, aren’t we?” His voice drips with sarcasm, cruel and sharp as a blade. His fingers are tight around her neck, squeezing, but… but not pressing inwards, avoiding her windpipe.
Hermione and Draco struggle after years of fighting for their lives to live in peace... but the instinct to fight hasn't quite died. She's got aches only firewhiskey can mend and an assignment that'll be the death of her: castle restoration. Will she survive a world that she doesn't feel like she fits into anymore? "It seemed like a fitting tribute," she says in wooden tones. Be it dream or vision, she might as well play along— draw this out until reality comes crashing back. Who knows when he'll come to her again as solid and as vibrant as this?
"I see." Suddenly he's leaning into her, their faces so close together. "Tell me," he murmurs, his lips almost brushing against hers, "have you ever heard of the term kissing cousins?"
She registers the smell of alcohol on his breath at the same time that his eyes flutter shut and he slumps face-down into her lap, snoring softly. You're alive, is all she can think at first, staring down at his head of lush black hair.
Ben Solo is alive.
