Vanders characterisation is exceptional. Perfectly captures the perspective of the sympathetic abuser. Honestly terrifying.

Summary
Jayce's life wasn't great, but it was good enough -- he had a job as an engineer at the trainyard, a little house in Piltover that he'd inherited from his parents, and a silver pocketwatch that had been a gift from Mel, the smuggler who was his friend and occasional fling. That all changed when his train was robbed and Jayce himself was taken for ransom. Chained to a bed in the clinic, Jayce is prepared to hate the doctor aiding and abetting his imprisonment, but he soon learns that not everything in the small mining town of Zaun is controlled by the criminal gang that makes its headquarters there.
As the only man in Zaun with any real medical training, Viktor has his hands full. If it isn't miners falling prey to old and failing equipment and an utter lack of regard for safety by the mine's owners, then it's the roughneck crew of criminals who keep the town running. There's got to be a better way to live, but Viktor is too exhausted and overworked to figure it out. He's definitely too busy for romance, and even if he had the time, it wouldn't be with the naive and annoying Piltie who's been dumped into his lap while the Eye and the Hound decide how to squeeze a ransom out of the man.

Jayce lifted Viktor’s hand to look at the engagement mark: the outline of Viktor’s own teeth below his thumb. Heedless of anyone who might have been watching, he brought Viktor’s hand to his lips and touched a kiss to the wound.
The gesture itself was quite chaste, but its placement made Viktor wonder for the first time in his life what it would feel like to have the outline of someone else’s teeth carved into his neck.

Like a ghost of the past, Silco sits on a bar stool on the far side of the bar, legs crossed and chin lifted, and smiles at Vander.

(A young revolutionaries fic where they maybe, actually, might just succeed. A lot of political intrigue, some gender identity exploration, and eventual smut (+ Silco adopting Viktor))
Revolutions aren't born from a spark in the cold night air; they're built from bloodied hands and desperation. They're a heated, smoldering thing, cracks in a foundation snaking out, a constant chipping at the chains that bind and chafe. The dream of a free Zaun is not a new one, but the flames grow too high, too fast, and Piltover sends enforcers in to smother it.
Silco's not special, just a sumpsnipe like all the other orphans in the lower fissures, but he's at the right place at the right time to catch whispers of words like strike and protest, to learn about solidarity and independence, to take the word Zaun and build his heart around it.
He meets Felicia at sixteen, he meets Sevika at nineteen, and he meets Vander at twenty, and together, they might just make this Zaun thing real. If he falls in love and picks up an orphan or two along the way, well, he won't be the first young revolutionary to do so. After all, love is the foundation of Zaun, and children are the future.
