Atsumu had no idea how Shoyo averaged thirty minutes on the ice per game and needed less than a minute to recover between shifts. It took insane amounts of stamina that Atsumu intended to take advantage of later that night.

Atsumu’s jaw dropped as Shoyo waved to the crowd with a smile. None of their contracts required this type of personal appearance. Shoyo was doing this out of the kindness of his heart to raise money.
Atsumu thought it was fantastic. But then he thought harder.
Private lessons? With his Shoyo-kun?
Atsumu couldn’t have that. Not unless it was him.

Summary
As Atsumu opened the photo, he was greeted with the Brazilian night sky. The stars snaked up to the heavens themselves, with only the faintest light pollution dimming their glow. Atsumu spotted Mars nestling between Cancer and Gemini, twinkling the brightest he’d ever seen on camera.
Based on the metadata, Shoyo was in a sleepy little town, a few kilometers outside of the city he was playing in tomorrow. 8:15pm BRT April 11, 2025.
Atsumu then received two incoming texts in rapid succession.

Shoyo was in love with him.
It was almost a crime how Shoyo had said it, simple enough that Atsumu didn’t process a single word. He had told Shoyo ‘great!’ and left to his dorm room. It wasn’t until he was trying to fall asleep that the enormity of what Shoyo said sank in.
From that moment on, he had been desperately working to get Shoyo alone again. He needed to show Shoyo the surface of his affections and love, the depths to be discovered only once Shoyo was anchored to the seabed of his beating heart.
No, what Shoyo had said could never be a crime. What was a crime was how in the days since then, he had been systematically stopped from doing anything about it.

Shoyo reached up and rubbed away the frown creases etched in Atsumu’s forehead. “Let me come with you! A romantic walk with the one and only Atsumu-san!” He grinned, then began to sing, “And it’s all for me, all for me. Atsumu-san’s all for me.”
Atsumu blinked, momentarily surprised. Pretending to be unfazed all along, he shimmied down to Shoyo’s height and bumped their foreheads together. “Yep, all for me,” he confirmed.
Shoyo tried to lean in for a kiss, but Atsumu pulled back to move toward the door. He was a man on a mission. “C’mon Shoyo-kun, flour awaits. Let’s go!”

On their one month anniversary, Shoyo and Atsumu walk to the store, basking in their enjoyment of each other.

Summary
The whole kissing thing had honestly escaped Atsumu’s mind until now. He’s had plenty of fun with that tradition in the past, but in the last few years, he’d like to think he’s grown out of cozying up with random strangers. It’s going to be a lot less fun being a mere bystander, watching the various couples in the room getting lovey dovey whilst he’s reminded of his chronic failures in the love department. Worse than the actual couples, though, might be the few single people finding their way together, all giggly and filled with the excitement of something new.
Grimacing, Atsumu takes a sip of his drink, drowning out the images. His eyes scan the room only to land on a blob of bright orange hair, naturally drawn to the sight of it. Shouyou is laughing with some guys from his old high school team, ones whose names Atsumu can’t remember at the moment. All he knows is that all of them are coupled up, all of them except for his teammate, who, thank god, is still blissfully single.
Single.
Shouyou is single.
On New Year’s Eve.

Summary
The redhead groaned, deep and guttural as Atsumu pushed down on his leg. His eyes were shut as he attempted to relax, the stretch of his aching, exhausted body sending a sense of pleasure through him. Maybe he’d been neglecting his cooldowns lately in favour of extra time; maybe he’d pushed too hard today. All that really mattered was that he felt good, and clearly his body was in need of a little R&R.
“That good?” Atsumu questioned.
“God yes,” Shouyou practically moaned, “feels so good.”
Atsumu let out a breathy laugh, the tone in Shouyou’s voice tingling throughout his body. He silently scolded himself, knowing full well he probably shouldn’t be letting his teammates pain relief become possible source material for his own. With an exhale, Atsumu shifted to release his pressure slowly, Shouyou sighing in a way Atsumu swore was lewd and not his twisted mind playing up the tone.
