“I’m sorry,” Soobin said as he placed a sytrofoam cup of black coffee between Yeonjun's feet and tried not to react to the way cigarette smoke stung his throat. “I shouldn’t have come to your house without asking. We’re coworkers and I completely stepped over—”
“No, you didn't. You didn’t do anything wrong... Listen, I–'' There was a heavy weight to Yeonjun’s voice suddenly, but Soobin didn't waver. “I didn’t want you to see any of that. I didn’t even want you to know where I live. Because I don’t– I just don’t want you to think of any of that stuff when you think of me. I don’t want you involved in any of that stuff.”
“Because we’re just coworkers,” Soobin attempted to clarify.
“No, not because of that.”
Yeonjun and Soobin meet the fall after they graduate from the same high school when Soobin picks up a part-time job at the worst coffee shop in town. Soobin is shy, sensitive, and quiet. Yeonjun is brash, loud, and guarded. Soobin's not Yeonjun's type. Soobin hates the Yeonjun from high school. So, why is Soobin the first person who catches Yeonjun when his life falls apart?

“Taehyun,” Beomgyu whispered. “Why do you know who the hottest guy in school is?”
“Because it’s you," Taehyun said, with his voice also hushed, like it was the most obvious thing in the world to him.
Beomgyu’s metal band is his entire life. And Beomgyu knows the perfect guy to fill in after their singer quits… and it doesn’t hurt that Beomgyu has sort of been in love with him for 3 years straight. His pick— Kang Taehyun— is the student council president, captain of the track team, the lead of every school musical, and all around one of the most popular guys in the student body. He’s the perfect poster boy of academic and social bliss…And he doesn’t even like it.
Maybe what Taehyun actually likes is heavy music, singing his heart out, and a boy with shoulder length hair who doesn’t seem to care what anyone else in the world thinks of him.

“Why are you here, Beomgyu?” Yeonjun said quietly. “What do you want?”
This time, Beomgyu had an answer. “I want you,” he said. “And them.”
Yeonjun walked his fingers back up Beomgyu’s arm, fingertip by fingertip, rewiring his nerves. “And you can have me. And them.” His hand came to rest under Beomgyu’s jaw, cupping his cheek. “But you don’t want to be a part of us. You need to be separate. Or we’ll hurt you.”
Beomgyu pressed his face into his touch. A web was being spun around him, and he wanted to get caught in it, so, so badly.
