Summary
On a cold winter’s night, Regulus seeks out his brother in the hopes of reconciliation. In his naivety, he falls victim to a cleverly orchestrated trick by Severus Snape, who is seeking revenge on Sirius for a nasty prank he pulled.
Now, Regulus is trapped in the Shrieking Shack with a fully transformed werewolf and no chance of escape.
Fear is an old friend of his and yet he hardly has a chance to truly feel it, not while the overgrown wolf is too busy making a nest to keep Regulus warm and licking away his tears.

Summary
On the way home from a Halloween party, Remus is already anticipating a nice, quiet night in. While cutting through the forest, strange sounds alert him to the presence of another, who happens to be a tiny child named Regulus.
Lost and scared after running away from his cruel babysitter, little Regulus clings to him for solace. Although Remus never planned on having children, the moment this sweet baby places his trust in him, he realises he will do anything to keep him safe.
First, though, he needs to call the boy’s father.

“What’s a christ,” Regulus blurts, and smacks a hand over his mouth in desperation. “Nevermind. I’m–”
Fine, is what he tries to say, but his throat actually spasms, and the word dies before it's ever born.
Trying again, he clears his throat and carefully selects, “I can handle this myself.”

He was crying. “You can do that?” He repeated, feeling like he was in some sort of dream.
And then, Sirius seemed to realize. Because for a twelve-year-old, he was decently smart, and knew him better than anyone. “D’you…d’you want to do that, Reggie? I thought…I thought it was just a game?”
But he could only shake his head. Because it wasn't a game. He was a boy. And he could tell from Sirius's nervously resigned expression that Sirius knew it, too.

Summary
Excerpt:“'They hurt me,” Regulus cries out against her chest. “They hurt me.” He says it over and over again, thin body shaking beneath hers and James’ touch. “I have to clean–filthy, filthy, filthy. I’m filthy,” he continues.
Suddenly he's fighting to get out of their hold to try and finish the job and it’s awful but Lily and James can’t let go.
“Regu–, Regul–, James struggles to keep his hold on Regulus firm. His mouth is doing this wobbly thing Lily hates to see because it means he’s seconds away from crying, “Reggie, stop !” James finally manages to get out, his voice quavering. "Love, you're not. You're not filthy. Never that."
Regulus stops finally when his head butts Lily accidentally in the chin and lip. A pained groan escapes her before she can put a pin in it..
The room falls silent and then Regulus is shaking all over again. There’s a warm hand cradling one side of Lily’s face. James.
She rubs her cheek against Regulus’s murmuring softly to him that it’s alright and that he couldn’t hurt her."

But as a sane person (debatable)—and someone who has fallen headfirst in incandescent love—he simply chuckles in delight and presses a kiss on the little fist.
