Summary
It has been too long since any human set foot into the Snow King’s castle, and for good reason. It is rumored their family are the children of Winter himself, that their skin as white and cold as snow, that they have powerful magic abilities where ice bends to their will and everything their sickly-blue fingertips touch dies a frost-riddled death, and that here is only a lump of ice where their hearts are supposed to be.
For decades, their territory stood unclaimed, with no one ever challenging the rule of the Snow King’s dynasty over the land. At nighttime, so they say, the soft snow makes for the deadliest mattress, and the Snow King himself has drained their energy through his cruel magic. Sleep seeps into their bodies, impossible to fight off. The ones who try to make the journey always find themselves waking up far away from the castle, unsure of how they got there, safe, but unsuccessful in dethroning the Snow King. There are whispers of a curse, of magic, and most of all, of the terrifying, mighty Snow King.

Patrick starts having dreams about kissing Pete, and starts struggling with telling dreams from reality, because the dreams seem to make so much sense. But surely there's a reason they haven't been kissing all these years - right?

What happens when Pete sustains a nearly career ending injury?
After receiving surgery, Pete is finally scheduled to begin rehab with none other than physical therapst Patrick Stump. Patrick knows about Pete's mean streak and isn't about to let himself become vulnerable to this spoiled athlete. His job is to make him better and never have to see him again. Patrick doesn't even expect a thank you.
But maybe the media was wrong. Pete Wentz seems less like an asshole and more like a person who was forced to grow up too fast. Maybe Pete's knee isn't the only thing PT can heal...

What Patrick doesn't know though is that Pete is also going through his own separation, and the men find themselves for the first time in ten years both completely single. Will old, buried feelings from the past surface and start something new for both of them? Or are they both just going to continue to dance around the feelings they kept inside since they met over twenty years ago?

Pete wasn’t sure how long he got lost in his head for, but when he snapped back to the present, the bathroom door was being unlocked. The handle jiggled lightly for a few moments, and then the door was opened to reveal two paramedics, a male and a female.
The female was tall and thin, with a kind smile, but was otherwise boring and lacking any outstanding features. The other paramedic was much shorter, with light red-blond hair, carrying a medical bag that was slung over his shoulder. There was a gentle look in his eyes as he took in the situation.

Everyone wants to marry a doctor, the issue with that is that half of the medical workforce doesn't have time for sleep or food, nevermind a healthy relationship. Pete came to terms with the fact that he'd be a bachelor for the rest of his life years ago. He talked to people all day at work, he didn't need anything outside of that. He was content with that, until a neonatal surgeon named Patrick comes into his life.

That’s overdramatic, probably - but Pete’s having a nice day. He’s trying to bake some Christmas cookies for his kids, he’s planning his gifts that he hasn’t already bought, he’s finally starting to feel the holiday spirit, and he’s on Facetime with Patrick while they’re both doing other things. It’s a nice, Christmas adjacent kind of day.
“Pete - whatever happened to that song you wrote?”
In 2003, Pete very stupidly tried to write Patrick a song for Christmas, and lied to him about it. 20 years later, the truth comes out.

Pete Wentz is an enigma. Pete is a mystery wrapped in an enigma. Pete is a secret wrapped in a mystery wrapped in an enigma. Patrick isn’t sure what Pete’s deal is, he’s not really sure why Pete hates him, all he knows is that he hates Pete right back, and then some.
He hates his stupid chiselled cheekbones, his bleached blond, dark at the roots, just got out of bed hair, his slack tie with his never ironed shirt, his intense amber eyes. Everything about Pete just screams, I’m too good for this. I’m too good for you. What a pretentious ass.
Unfortunately, Pete is also the person Patrick has to share an office with late one night on Christmas Eve.
