He restrained himself from lifting his hand to touch the gunshot wound on his arm. No satisfaction for Judge with any reaction. He just breathed in the smoke of his cigarette, letting the nicotine burn his throat and overtake the other burning that was flaring throughout his body.

"What're you—" he slurred, but Ba Ye ignored him completely. After a moment, he let out a startled hiss, fingers pressing against Zhang Rishan's shoulder.
"You've been shot!" Ba Ye said, voice high with alarm.
