Summary
Ed stares out at the sea. Everyone else stares at him. This is how every morning has played out since he boarded the Revenge. He feels like turning, snapping at everyone to go about their business. Feels also like it would be a pointless exercise, that as soon as he turned back there would be eyes on him again. A spectacle, he is.
“Psst,” he hears from next to him. He doesn’t want to turn, doesn’t want to be on the receiving end of any intrusive questions. He stares at the sea. “Ed!”
Stede. Ed turns.
“Hi,” Ed whispers.
“Come with me,” Stede whispers back.

Summary
When the door slams open again, Stede’s standing in the doorway. The rival captain’s body is slumped in the hallway just behind him, Stede’s dagger still buried to the hilt in his throat, his blood marking up the sleeve of Stede’s white shirt.
Ed has just enough time to feel relief before Stede’s expression flickers to horror and oh.
Oh, Stede.
“I’m okay,” Ed says immediately. “It’s okay. I promise, everything’s fine, I’m fine—”
“Ed,” Stede croaks, already halfway to wrecked, and guilt crashes over Ed like a wave.

It’s not Ed’s first time getting kidnapped and tortured. However, it is Stede’s first time rescuing him in the aftermath.
It’s unexplored territory for them both.

Summary
Stede and Ed "Blackbeard" Teach have been fighting ever since Stede got back to sea, which would be fine and not totally unexpected after the "breakup", except their fighting now involves full-blown naval battles and their respective crews are thoroughly sick of it.
Naturally, the only solution is to maroon the two of them on a desert island until they work it out or kill each other. Whichever comes first.

“Of course,” Stede says, and Ed looks up to see a flicker of a naughty schoolboy smirk sweep across his features, “there is one particular downside to taking it slow."
And the fucking dork waggles his eyebrows. Awful. Just appalling.
It doesn’t not work for Ed.

Within hours of letting the crew take off with the Revenge, Stede and Ed aren’t coping well. To further complicate things, their attempt to talk things through gets interrupted by Izzy crawling out of the grave.
The Co-Captains and resurrected First Mate won’t be able to resist the call of the high seas, but with the British Navy after them and a crew of savvy brothel employees assisting their journey back to the Revenge, happily ever after will require a few twists and turns along the way.
As with everything that takes place during the Golden Age of Piracy, nothing goes according to plan…
