“He thinks you’re hiding snacks!”
“He’s going to be so disappointed!” Rafe cackled.
Monty nodded solemnly. “Unless—”
“NOPE,” Cedric barked. “We’re not finishing that sentence. We’re ending this scene. Right now.”
He reached under his jumper, carefully hooked both hands around Harry’s fuzzy little middle, and bodily extracted the deer like a misbehaving kitten being removed from a cake.
Harry dangled in the air for a moment, blinking up at Cedric with pure, unrepentant innocence.
“You are unbelievable,” Cedric muttered, setting him gently but firmly on the bed.
Harry huffed and turned around. Gave Cedric one final nudge on the thigh, purely out of spite, then flopped down with his back to everyone—curled into a dramatic, moody little ball of fur.
Cedric stared down at him, still covering himself. “I can’t believe I have to say this, but: no more crotch exploration. Ever.”
From the bed: a single, tiny snort.
And not one bit of remorse.

Desperate for a way to defeat Voldemort, James and the Order of the Phoenix performed an ancient ritual, summoning a powerful figure from another time and place. When the man arrived, James wasn’t sure if they’d gained an ally or unleashed another threat. But his son, Harry, took to the stranger instantly, fondly dubbing him “Mr. Snitch” after the man playfully adopted the name.
It was hard for James to reconcile Snitch’s gentleness with the sheer skill and power he commanded—power wielded so effortlessly that he spoke Voldemort’s name as if he did not know the concept of fear. And even through his guard, James couldn’t ignore how the stranger softened whenever he played with Harry, his voice almost aching with a quiet, unspoken longing when he spoke with James and Lily.
