Summary
“It’s annoying, isn’t it,” Garak said, “when you’ve finally decided to give up and someone comes along and stubbornly insists that you keep living.”
Julian’s eyes blinked open. “Garak?” he whispered.
“Hello, my dear doctor.”

Summary
This started as an effort to include as many "Garashir" tropes into one story as possible. Some of it was done in a rather meta, cheesy matter.
But it has changed, as most writing inevitably does.
It is a mystery. It is about political turmoil and cultural change. But MOST importantly, this is a story about life's loves and unavoidable toils in a classic post-canon #Garashir about reuniting, rebuiling, growing, changing, and loving - with a little angst, adventure, and tabloid danger thrown in for fun. Post-canon Cardassia does reveal to us many of our current miscomings, afterall.

Summary
Going into shed on a guls-forsaken starbase with a lot of strange Federaji and very few options was never going to be pleasant, Garak knew. But it might not have been quite so bad if Julian hadn't completely forgotten it was coming and left a week ago on the Defiant. Garak, of course, hadn't said a word. It was wartime, after all. There was nothing to be done.
And yet, he couldn’t help but see it as one more sign that Julian was slipping away from him.
