Summary
Modern au. Rooommates Oczy (shady part time job worker, aspiring writer) and Badeni (astrophysics PhD) eventually reach the same conclusion, but they show their work a little differently.
To ‘want’ is greedy. To ‘desire’ is sinful. Putting a name to these feelings roiling in his chest would surely be its own form of sacrilege, against these tenets that have haunted Oczy his entire life. One he will pay for dearly. He knows all too well the punishment for coveting something beyond his means.
Badeni’s lips turn down, slightly pouted.
Pretty, pretty.
Mismatched grey eyes snap up in an instant. “Did you say something?”
“N-no.” Oczy briefly considers flinging himself from the balcony. “Sorry. Nothing at all.”

Summary
Badeni had only himself to blame for this predicament. If he’d never flipped open the cover of Oczy’s book, driven by incredulous curiosity, if he’d never skimmed that first page, and then read it again and again, increasingly unbalanced by the spread of sincere words in an awkward hand, he would never have known what was churning away in that inexplicable man’s head. He’d never have known just how much their meeting had meant.

Summary
Once Neil gets to about page 6 when looking over his play, he feels his eyebrows furrow. Now, obviously since the play was about the Poets as a whole, there wasn’t really a main character. There would be a more prominent character in each given scene, but Neil made sure to avoid making himself the one who narrated and directed the entire story.
But once he was about halfway through rereading what he had so far, he realized that every character more or less revolved around one Poet in particular. Every scene managed to include the character, there were always in-depth descriptions of what he and his facial expressions looked like, and everyone either went to him for help or obviously valued his opinion highly.
Neil had named the character William, and he was realizing now that he had included a surprising amount of descriptions about this character’s blond hair, blue eyes, and unassuming but devout personality.
Oh shit, Neil thinks to himself, I accidentally made Todd the main character.
Or in which it's 1960, the Poets' senior year at Welton, and Neil's writing a secret play, his magnum opus, but there's just one problem: Todd keeps getting in the way.

"Or, alternatively; a modern day university AU in which Neil lets daddy issues prevent him from telling Todd how he feels, Charlie doesn’t know how to knock, Meeks and Pitts are the only characters with brain cells, and the Neil Perry Support Group is born.
