Bill seemed oblivious to his presence but Glenn met his gaze, a pained look crossing his face as he realized what was going on. Henry gave him a small wave, trying to smile, and Glenn looked away. Bill opened the door and walked into the apartment, leaving Glenn and Henry to trail in after him. He threw his bag down on the floor and Henry flinched at the slam but Glenn seemed unbothered. He slipped his guitar off his shoulder and leaned it up against the wall with care, avoiding eye contact with both Bill and Henry.
“Sorry, Dad,” Glenn repeated and Bill groaned.
“Just don’t fuck it up again tomorrow, Glenn. I’m gonna go out with the guys in a bit.”
“What am I gonna have for dinner?”
“Figure it out yourself.” Bill kicked his bag so it was vaguely against the wall and trudged towards the back of the apartment. He opened the door there, revealing a peek of a bathroom before closing it behind himself, and Glenn’s posture slumped.
“Yeesh,” Henry said, trying to lighten the mood, and Glenn grimaced. “He was a lot more chill when I met him, huh?”

The most confusing part was that Coach Darnell looked like a normal adult, almost like Grant’s dad, but leaner and taller and darker in complexion. He wore the same ball cap and the same silver whistle around his neck.
