Summary
Levi, Furlan, and Isabel try to navigate learning the rules of the military while trying to hide their secrets close to their chests. Meanwhile, Erwin, Hange, and Mike pay extra attention to their newest recruits.
He hated it when Furlan called him deaf. He wasn’t deaf; he could hear the screams of terror from one of the alleyways around him. He always knew when Furlan was snoring if they were in the same room. He knew even his light-foot steps made noise that bounced off the walls of buildings, even if he couldn’t understand what people were saying, even if they yelled in his ear, he still knew they were talking. The world he lived in was made of soft buzzing and harsh crashes, but he could still hear that much.
And even if he couldn’t hear all that well, he made up for it in other ways. He could read lips, and he knew sign language. That was enough to get by. Even if he did have to constantly scan his surroundings when he was by himself. Levi hears the last words ring differently, she’s not speaking to him.
He turns his head to the side, watching the fine line of the commander’s jaw clench.

Summary
Post-ACWNR, Levi is navigating fitting into the Corps, and his friendship with Erwin grows when he agrees to help his former target transcribe what is in his Father's illegal mysterious books. The knowledge they gain may help Levi understand more about himself and his lineage, why he is suddenly getting visions that feel all too real, and why his whole life, the girl with the expressionless white eyes in the dusty acres of his mind has been lingering ominously over him.
~ It pretty much follows canon but is more emphasised on Ackerman Paths/Powers/Bonding because we were robbed actually. Levi grew up speaking French Underground, Erwin loves that shit, just as much as I love Levi's trauma apparently. Also if the french is bad to fluent speakers, I'm sorry but I'm using google translate, but I'll write the english beside it anyways.

"Hurt you," Jason echoes, and now his voice isn't raspy because he's pretending to be Batman. Bruce hurt Dick. The first son, the favourite, the one most like him.
Bruce hurt him?
"Do you still not understand what you did? What you keep doing? ‘It is what it looks like.’ Funny how I only realised it after my death, after you beat me up and sent me away from my family.”
Dick stands up, all stiff movements. The light from outside hits him directly, and Jason realises he’s in a nightmare.
Jason was—he was dreaming. This—this man, hunched and shaking and bleeding—cannot be Dick. His brother’s face could never be dripping with blood from his father’s fists.
“Look. You’ve made me a victim,” Dick tells him.
OR
Dick finally realises Batman is an abusive piece of shit, and so do his brothers. What follows is never that simple.

Bruce knit his eyebrows together in confusion. “What happened on the mission?”
Now it was Clark who looked confused. “The mission?”
Bruce pulled up his tablet and began logging into the database. “You just came back from the YLA mission to Braal, no? Hal filed the report already.” Bruce tapped on the screen to open the report and scanned his eyes over it. “Looks like it went alright.”
A horrified look dawned on his friend’s face. “You don’t know.”
“Know what,” Bruce said, now starting to feel annoyed at clearly being out of the loop of whatever Clark was talking about.
“Bruce, I don’t hear his heart.”
Four months ago, Dick Grayson returned from Spyral, and faced his family’s anger at the betrayal.
One month ago, John Doe was shot and killed in a mugging.
Three days ago, Superman came to offer his condolences after returning from an off-world mission.
Now, Dick Grayson is lowered into the ground once again.
OR: Dick dies alone and his family grieves.

“Robin–no!” Batman shouted, and Dick jerked. He couldn’t stop it. Batman was looking at him, not Robin, who lay a few feet away, stirring. He knew. He knew, and the horror was written all over his mask.
Dick turned back to the rifle, finger on the trigger, and tuned them out. One deep breath, in and out, and then he inhaled. He breathed out, only a half-breath, just like Slade had taught him. And then he fired.
“Robin,” Dick said quietly, “is dead.”
Dick has always heard that caged birds don't sing, but he wasn't caged. Slade didn't even keep a leash on him. He was Slade's apprentice, as surely as he had ever been anything else, and it was Slade who gave his life meaning and direction. Nothing would change that. Bruce–Batman had failed before, and he would fail again. Robin, though. Dick hadn't seen that coming.
