Canon divergence starting off where Resident Evil 2 Remake's TRUE ENDING (2nd Run) left off. Ties other Resident Evil story elements into it and references other games, including other characters. Mainly focused on a slowburn relationship between Leon & Claire.

There’s not one part of her that doesn’t hurt. Jill’s throat is sore, a necklace of bruises ripening into what she’s sure is a tender purple by now. Every swallow hurts. Stinging asphalt scrapes, patches of burns along her bare arms, countless little glass splinters… The wound on her upper arm, where the t-Virus had infected her, had nearly killed her, throbs under the soiled bandages wrapped around it.

The world dims a fraction, his eyesight blurring, and he’s vaguely aware that he’s screaming. He can’t even hear it over the blaring ring of the saw, but he can feel the vibration in his vocal cords. He doesn’t have words to describe the agony; doesn’t even know if he feels it.

In an alternate universe after the events of RE4, Leon was unsuccessful in removing his Plaga. As the island falls in, he urges Luis to save Ashley and himself, granting him a second chance at life; a debt that Luis repays endlessly when Leon is rescued from the island and taken to a treatment facility.
