All Tommy planned to do was walk in one direction until he collapsed, just to prove no one would come help him. He should've realized when his too-thin shoes crunched through snow.
He realized with muted humor that he'd walked straight to Technoblade's house once more.
Tommy was about to walk past the structure when he had an idea. A sick realization that maybe he didn't need to die in the cold.Techno could do it for him.
Techno doesn't expect his younger brother to show up at his house on an otherwise fine day and beg to be killed. It soured the mood, to say the least.

TommyInnit had died. Again. To Dream. Again. And it sucked exactly as much as he thought it would because he'd wanted to move on and have a chance to actually live this time. Seems he won't be getting that.
Then he gets pulled out of Limbo, but he doesn't wake up back in the cell with Dream or next to his bed on the server. He doesn't wake up on the Dream SMP at all.
Little does he know that this is the least of his worries.

Summary
Tommy was fairly certain bedrock was unbreakable, and even if it wasn't, there definitely wouldn't be a vast, unending void underneath that is actually a portal to a perfect world.
Grian was fairly certain things were only supposed to go in the Boatem Hole, not come out, and even if something did, it would be diamonds or a reward for their sacrifices or something that wasn't a random teenage boy.
To be fair, neither of them had put too much thought into it before. Maybe that excuses the reaction they had when their expectations were exceeded.
