"Your feelings- they don’t matter?!” The swordsman snarls in response . “Don’t fucking say that.”
There a stab to your heart , his words cutting you just as deeply as if he put a swords through your chest. You could not for the life of you understand the concern Zoro had for your emotions when you are undoubtly breaking his heart more with each passing day.
“Please Zoro- don’t stay behind for me. Go.”
“Why don’t you trust me?” The swordsman asks. His voice so hushed it threatens not to make it to your ear.
The sword in your heart twists in a devilish way. Is this what Zoro had deduced? That your lack of openness could only be a fault of his own. That he had not loved you enough , made you feel safe enough. Yet another reminder of why you are so undeserving of him. Though he doesn’t meet you , you still search his gaze . Look at the truth in his expression to see that this is truly what Zoro believed . You didn’t trust him.
