Dante is the one to die first. They never thought he'd be the one to die, they assumed him unkillable. But some demon king got lucky and now he's dead.
They don't get time to mourn Dante before Vergil dies too. Vergil dies in mourning. He dies stupidly and regretfully and painfully. He dies alone, like he always knew he'd die. He dies taking out a wave of demons all around him. Avenging his brother’s death.
