Simon had, once again, gone to get fucking hammered at the bar. Usually Johnny would go with him, be a good boyfriend, and help him stumble up the stairs back to their room, but he just… couldn't, this time. He was tired of having to do it.
Gaz had tried to talk him into breaking up with the man before they left. Johnny told him that he would, even, because he was tired of it all. But, well…

Summary
The scent of fire is fresh and brilliant in Ghost's nose. He breathes deep as they come upon the plateau, his eye drawn immediately to the circle of runes that look far too recent for his liking. There is still dust clustered around the corners of them, and footprints within. "What do these say?" he asks, nudging the closest rune.
Price releases Ghost's hand and peers down at it, kneeling to brush some of the loose rock away. "I believe it's a rune for sanctuary," he says, though he sounds unsure. "Protection of some kind."
Ghost frowns. He supposes it's not impossible that the blues who lived here allowed people to carve their markings on their lair, but it seems very, very unlikely. And they are so fresh.
Another light brush of wind blooms more smoke-smell in his lungs. The mouth of a cave greets them, and even from his place Ghost can see the promising glimmer of jewels inside. He finds himself drawn to them, the scent of ash and burned pitch like coming home.

Summary
When the sergeant first arrived, it was nothing special. The fact that he was an omega was a surprise, but nothing more than a mildly interesting footnote as far as Ghost was concerned.
So no, his little infatuation with Soap was no ‘love at first sight’ bullshit.
His interest fluttered to life, not upon seeing Soap’s pretty face, or picking up on the sweet scent of an omega – but rather when he saw just how bloody and vicious the man could be.

“Gaz goes into heat two days from now. I would like you to join him for it.”
Ghost freezes, breathing stalls. His instincts in his head are screaming like fire alarms with flashing red lights signaling ‘DANGER DANGER DANGER’. No fucking way in hell would he ever consider touching his pack leader’s omega, especially when he has an omega of his own.
“Um…uh-…” Ghost stammers as he averts his gaze from Price in a sign of submission. This has to be a test of some sort. No way would an alpha ever just offer their omega on a silver platter. In HEAT, no less.
“Price, I…NO, I can’t.”“Why?” Price asks flatly as he watches Ghost like a predator.

Summary
Hidden from the world above, the different races of merfolk thrived within the ocean realm- that is, until the race of men appeared. When humans discovered that mythical creatures such as mermaids and mersharks were real, true flesh and blood beings that lived within the ocean depths, it sparked the wonder and amazement of millions. But the darker, greedier aspects of human nature soon emerged, and as time passed countless merfolk were captured or killed, hunted to near extinction.
Tucked away along the Scottish isles lived a tribe of Blacktip mersharks that managed to escape the negative impacts of man. Among those was a mershark who was quite different from the rest, one who, at times, had a propensity to let his curious, adventurous nature overrule his better judgment. A character trait that had nearly gotten Soap killed in his youth by the human hunters his kind so despised.
To his shock, he was also saved by the very creatures he was taught to hate and fear, and Soap was left with the astounding discovery that not all humans were bad. But... some merfolk would never be swayed, and as two worlds collided, Soap's loyalty to those he loved would be tested in ways he never imagined.

Summary
While stuck in port for repairs, the crew of esteemed pirate Captain John Price's vessel keep themselves busy with a variety of activities. For one John 'Soap' MacTavish, this includes accepting a contract to hunt down a ferocious sea monster referred to as "The Ghost", which seems to have an insatiable taste for human blood and a horrifying skull face that drives survivors to madness. Soap manages to injure the creature during a storm, but can't quite make the killing blow before it slips back into the abyss from which it came.
But when he finds it hiding in a cave to nurse its injuries, he learns that the Ghost is more than just a ravenous, mindless beast, and he has to make an important decision: complete the bounty and get enough gold to cement himself as one of the greatest pirates of all time, or betray his found family and side with a known killer.

Summary
John “Soap” MacTavish is frozen under the weight of a singular glowing golden eye. Its vertical pupil dilates and contracts and Soap swears he can feel the physical weight of a touch skimming over his body as it trails up and down him, assessing. The touch feels as if a singular sharp claw is being dragged over his skin, holding him in place with the silent threat of evisceration should he so much as breathe.
So he doesn’t breathe, he doesn’t move, he can’t even bring himself to look away from that eye as he’s studied; as his fate is decided by the sleek, inky black creature standing just a few feet in front of him.
Soap’s skin feels as if it’s burning under the weight of that stare, but he’s finally able to take a breath in. He lets it out through his nose slowly, quietly, and is careful not to move as he tries to convince his body he isn’t in danger.
But he isn’t convinced. . . isn’t even close, and as he’s able to finally tear his gaze away from the one eye that he can see, he becomes almost sure that he is in danger.
