Summary
This is a continuation of my other works on this motley crew.
A brief overview--Rune's first language is sign, but she is a hearing character. Her tribe communicated this way when she was growing up. She can speak if she chooses to. Her friends have learned enough sign to understand her.
Sean has a prosthetic arm. At one time he had a prosthetic eye as well, but it malfunctioned and was removed. He has heavy scarring on the left side of his face and a small remnant of the prosthetic remains over the missing eye.
Wes and Anya are dating.
Ransom is slightly older than the rest of the crew, and is designated "team dad."
They are nomadic and currently traveling. The setting is pre-industrial revolution, in a dystopian future where modern developments are sequestered in walled-off cities that only the rich enjoy, and few are even aware of.

Summary
This story continues where "The Ascending Byway" left off.
These characters are on a nomadic wilderness adventure, set in a dystopian alternate future where much of the world is set in pre-indistrial times. Isolated cities have modern advancements, but keep them cloistered within their walls.
Rune is a hearing character whose mother tongue is sign language. Her friends have mostly learned it, and she does occasionally speak aloud.
Sean has PTSD. He had an accident that cost him an arm and an eye; he has a prosthetic arm. He and Rune are a couple.
Wes and Anya are dating.
Daniel is a newer addition to their crew; they met him in the lodge they've all been staying at for the winter.

Summary
This story continues on with Ransom, Wes & Anya, Rune & Sean.
Friendships and relationships continue to develop in this "found family" story arc.The five spend the winter in a village nearer to the mountains, where an unexpected meeting throws Rune off her axis. When forced to confront a specter from the past, she loses ground in trusting her friends. Will she let them in on what she's feeling, or resolve to remain silent?
Ransom grows restless over the winter. He comes to a decision as spring draws near, and hopes his friends will be willing to support him in his search for purpose and meaning.

A short story exploring a relationship between Wes, who is bi, and Sean, who's in the dark about his identity as gray-ace.
Sean has intimacy issues, PTSD, and is an emotionally stunted cinnamon roll. Wes loves everyone and wants to help him work through his difficulties.

Summary
Sean and Rune have been waiting through 88K of a glacial burn. The author got impatient and threw them into their first encounter without much preamble. Surprising no one, this doesn't quite fit the flavor of the rest of the main fic.
To fix this, they are getting their fling in a one shot, though we do hope they get off more than just this once.
