The sky was blue. Hazy at the edges with a cotton blur. The light shone through it creating distinct ringlets of yellow sun. It almost reminded Dan of Phil's eyes. Blue and green and yellow then blue again. The patterns of reflected light danced above Dan's head like inverted northern lights. Vaguely he registered the sky wasn't supposed to do that but strangely it didn't weigh on him too heavy.Dan has a nightmare about their fish Norman..... but it might be about more than just that. Phil of course comforts him. Let the cuddling ensue xx

Summary
Dan and Phil were practically living on top of each other. No not in a sexy way but in the rather literal sense. They were stuck in a one bedroom apartment with abysmal space and boxes stacked so haphazardly on top of each other all it took was one wrong shimmy for a twin towers situation. After more than a decade of being with the man Dan could comfortably say he loved him but in this moment he hated him the slightest bit more.
Basically Dan and Phil having a bit of a domestic back in their London apartment during covid.

Dan and Phil broke up in 2017. Today, Phil is a (slutty) gay media personality with a string of unsuccessful relationships and Dan is a (closeted) standup comedian with virtually no friends. The two of them have history — a lot of it. Stalkers, birthdays, suicide attempts and radio shows. Laughter, tears, codepency, growth. Much time has passed since they decided to put an end to all that.
When Dan’s manager persuades him to go on Phil’s podcast in order to promote his new tour, the both of them reconnect, just as Dan is contemplating a public coming out. Meanwhile, having once again broken up with someone who wasn’t quite the one, Phil is starting to believe he might just not be made for relationships.
Phil loved him a lot. A lot, a lot. You look nice today. You’re so funny. Let me touch you. Kiss me, fuck me, I love you. These are things he used to hear every day. They would call each other names until one of them ran out of steam and had to say I love you. Fuck. That prickling feeling behind his eyes again.

Dan is shocked, genuinely, that not everyone here falls head over heels for this man immediately. Surely they must. Surely they’re just doing a better job than Dan is at keeping it in. Maybe he’s not gay, maybe this is just what Phil does to people.
