Maybe if the video ended there, Shane thought, it would be okay. Okayish. Still incriminating. Still a fucking disaster. Still embarrassing, to have his breakup with this beautiful actress filmed and disseminated on Reddit of all fucking places, but not a nail in his coffin, burying him alive. But the video didn’t end there.
“Can I ask if you’ve ever been with another guy?” she had to ask.
And he, tears visible in his eyes, had to nod.
Just once. Just a single nod.
Why did he have to nod?
“Have you ever told anyone that before?” He shook his head. “Was it different? With a guy?”
“Of course.”

Summary
Sam kept insisting that their father was acting weird, but Dean hadn't seen a problem. So what if he was acting a bit nicer than usual? Yeah, he kept trying to separate them, and he hadn’t wanted Dean to come along on the hunt in the first place, but he hadn’t thought it was that weird.
Looking back on it, Dean knew he should have listened to Sam.

“Something’s wrong with dad.” Sam said so quietly that Dean could hardly hear it. There was a hint of fear in his baby brother’s voice that he didn’t know what to do with.
“Why? Cause he’s being nice?” Dean huffed. Sam could be so dramatic.
“No- that’s not…” the small voice trailed off. “Something’s not right. I- I don’t know…”
“He’s just in a good mood, there’s nothing wrong with that.” Dean shrugged. “It’s not anything to worry about. If something was up he’d tell me, I’m sure of it.”
And as the words came out of his mouth something in his stomach twisted. It felt like he was lying. But he wasn’t. There was no reason to worry.

“Dad?”

Summary
It all started because of a stupid lead Sam checked without backup. That was how he found himself caged, used and shrouded by darkness inside an omega trafficking ring. The torture continued for months, until Dean finally unearthed the operation and saved them. While Sam sought justice in court for all the victims, he unwittingly became a media sensation.
Sam wants to fade into the background. Being buried alive puts life in perspective. His dream of traveling seems impossible, so he gets creative. He's got the cash from a massive settlement.
Sam realizes he doesn’t have to ‘fly’ under the radar, maybe he could ‘ship off—raise anchor?’
Dean’s terrified of Sam disappearing again. He and his mate, Cas, decide to plant a Novak brother in Sam’s path secretly: as a hired bodyguard.
It works, Sam and Gabriel set sail, Gabriel acting as a guide, captain and (covert) watchman…but complications arise. Complications, in the way that Sam learns to trust again and begins falling in love. Complications, in the way that all of Sam's PTSD medications compromise his nose, because Gabriel is fucking positive: they’re true mates.
A normal around-the-world cruise would be too much to ask for, of course.

When Sam meets Gabe, nothing could be more awkward—or sexually charged. But the moment is only that—a moment. The picture is taken and Sam is quickly moved along to finish out the convention alone. In the hustle and bustle of a Con Weekend, neither man notices that their Soulmate Marks have completed until later.

A quickie in the airport bathroom after they land has Sam walking on air when he meets up with his slightly estranged brother. He is surprised, however, to discover that not only is Dean marrying a man—but that his fiancé, Cas, happens to also be Gabriel’s little brother.
When Sam’s accommodations fall through, and there is no vacancy at the hotel, Gabriel graciously offers to share his room. Between wedding drama, family issues, trying to keep their budding romance from their brothers, as well as just about every ex in Sam’s past crawling out of the woodwork, the two men find that their only respite is when they are alone together in their room. Summary
When I saw Sam sneaking out behind a dumpster to drink demon blood, I said aloud "oh...he's an addict." And, dealing with a loved one with addiction, it completely seized me. I love the show as a whole, and I suppose I long for a family as loving and open as the one I've attempted to create below, trying to base it completely off of the amazing canon themes of family Kripke created. As a blanket statement, please be alert to themes of drug abuse, alcoholism, child abuse, addiction, depression, and anxiety. I have done my best to address these themes with honesty, but also humor, and much, much love, which is what we're all looking for, no matter what our issues and across all vices.

But the kid that John's got by the arm, who's pulled as far away from Dean's dad as possible without actually trying to get his arm back, the kid whose eyes don't leave John and are bright with fear, the kid who looks like he hasn't eaten in a couple of days and is obviously favoring his left leg...
This kid looks an awful lot like a person. And what's more, he's the same age Sammy would have been.

Summary
The Cage was never meant to hold a human. It was meant for one archangel, not two, and definitely not a human soul. Little by little Sam's soul was being destroyed by the torture the Cage inflicted on it. Lucifer and Michael joined together and, with their combined grace, pieced together Sam Winchester's soul and sent him out of the Cage and into the past in the hopes that he can stop this whole thing before it even starts.
Only, when Sam lands, things don't quite go so well. He's not all that sure that this isn't another torture the Cage has provided for him. He's in the past, right after Dean got out of Hell, and he's nowhere near the same man he was before. He can barely remember how to function as a human. It's going to take his family and a little help from a surprised archangel for Sam to start to recover. He doesn't have much time, though, because the apocalypse is still coming and the angels are fighting to get Lucifer free. Can one broken man manage to change the past? Or are they doomed to repeat their same mistakes over and over again?
