We were about as far into our training as you are now when our mentor, Celine, reached out to touch Mira's shoulder. just to correct her stance, nothing threatening. But Mira freaked out completely."
She pauses, lost in the memory. "That was the first time she summoned her Woldo. She did it instinctively, creating distance between herself and Celine, between herself and everyone else. It was her defense mechanism to push others away before they can hurt her. They can't betray you if they already hate you, right?"
Ahrin's jaw tightens. "You don't know what the hell you're talking about."
