Rodimus could not be happier for them. Really. Truly.
He always feels so warm spending time with them, so full of affection, but as the evening creeps along and Minimus calls the end of the night the warmth starts dissipating from his frame, and as he exits Megatron and Minimus's hab and heads to his own, waving goodbye to Drift and Ratchet as they retreat to theirs, there is nothing left but the cold something that always makes its appearance in his spark and the feeling that it'll never quite be enough. -

As the light began to dim, Link was shook from his stupor by a noise. The long-haired hero had dismounted from its pillar first and- it was moving and alive and right in front of him- was now crouching down, still wielding its sword as it glanced around in equal amounts of confusion, trepidation and threat. The tunic it was wearing was a light shade of blue, falling naturally as if it hadn’t been stone just mere seconds before.
Turns out the past hero statues in the Temple of Souls have... well, souls. And that the Hero Spirits within them return to life at night.

It was supposed to be a simple supply run. A scientific vessel out in deep space; all they had needed to do was drop off some more energon and replacement lab equipment. The ship wasn’t supposed to fire on them. There weren’t supposed to be zombies. And, most critically, Starscream wasn’t supposed to be a stupid aft and get bit by one of them.

In Starscream’s honest (and very humble) opinion, this was one of the worst days of his life.
And that’s against some very steep competition, you know! Millennia upon millennia of having the worst luck known to Cybertron and beyond really lends itself to a never-ending stream of horrible events that all culminate into an ever-present world-weariness and severe paranoia, all channeled into one (unfortunately small) seeker.
Today in particular, though, seemed to deviate from his usual pattern of bad luck, in the form of an irate Autobot.

Summary
Any self-respecting Towers mech should know how to court properly, and Mirage is nothing if not a proper Towers mech. Of course, the whole affair would probably have gone a lot easier if anyone had thought to inform Hound that he was being courted in the first place.
