Tony turned the paper towards Happy, tapping a finger against the scribbles in the margin. “I didn’t write that. I thought it, but I didn’t write it. What sorcery is this?”
“Oh shit, sorry,” Happy said, expression resigned. “I’m guessing the kid went through them when I drove him to school this morning. He has no regard for personal boundaries.”

"Actually," Lancelot cleared his throat "She requested I serve as an ambassador between Emrys and Arthur."
Merlin stared.
"Right..." He frowned "So, uh, she told you to do that and...Gave you a chicken to close the veil between worlds?"
Percival looked at the pile of feathers with a grimace as he nudged them away with the toe of his boots.
"Yeah, that about covers it." Lancelot said and shrugged "My lord, does this mean you’re going to kill me?" He asked, turning to Arthur. "Because I’m pretty sure this this crystal ball has magic in it."
Arthur wished he would have thrown himself in that damned veil when he had the chance.
Or
Instead of sacrificing himself to the veil, a goddess of the Old Religion decides to use Lancelot for the greater good of the prophecy. Lancelot...Decides to take a different route.

"Merlin, you're not getting an apprentice." Arthur told him. Merlin stopped to look at the king.
"I am. I have. He's right there. Say hi, Daegal."
"Hi!"

"Yes," The knight continued and gestured between himself and Merlin. "We were just about to have some amazing sex. Right in that alcove actually," He said, nodding a bit towards a nook in the wall behind Arthur. "So, if this isn't anything urgent..." He trailed off. Arthur stared.
He... He had misheard, right? Definitely. For a moment he thought Gwaine had said... No. Absolutely not.

“I’m sure there must be some method… Beheading?”
“No, we tried that.”
“Hanging?”
“I just sort of... Swung there, remember?”
There was another pause.
“I should have made you keep that dragon below the castle so I could feed you to it.”
“Kilgharrah? He won’t eat me, but if you want to torture me than making me listen to his nonsense for an hour might do it.” Merlin said and there was a soft sigh from the other end of the room. “I’m glad you agreed to help me though. Usually I have to do the grunt work of saving Arthur myself.”
“I can’t wait to kill you.”
Or
Uther finds out about Merlin’s magic, but can’t seem to kill him. Merlin is just trying to protect Arthur. They become a begrudgingly effective duo. Arthur doesn't understand why they think he isn't noticing this.

Merlin was technically banished, but everybody knew he wasn’t really gone. Sometimes, the cooks would leave out spare food only to find their shelves fully restocked the next day. Gwaine would leave out plans to prank the other knights and they would be carried out within the hour. Arthur would turn a blind eye to the way familiar blue eyes twinkled at him from underneath the hood of a cloak, or ignore the whispers that said the stocks were haunted.

Summary
Arthur could wrap his mind around the magic. Barely – but he could. Merlin had often been the most troubling puzzle for him. However, the king wasn’t ready to accept that his servant had been protecting him all these years. That was never supposed to be Merlin’s role.

Uther orderd everyone to bandage their arms to hide it
Gaius cant find the cure for months
Arthur takes Merlin n Lancelot to visit druids
They tells him Emrys can lift the spell but he needs to see what is written
Arthur comvinces Uther to take the bandages off
Words start to dissapear
Arthur overhears Merlin n Gaius arguing n realizes his name is written on Merlins skin
Merlin tells him its not wat he thinks it means
Arthur realizes years later what Merlins words mean when he died in his arms -

Gwaine scoffed as he crossed his arms over his chest, chin jutted out as he resolutely shook his head.
"No way. We can handle ourselves without Merlin for two days...Well, some of us can." He clicked his tongue with a nod towards the other three. Leon frowned.
"What are you trying to say?"
"That we didn’t grow up with servants," Elyan snorted "I know it’s a scary thought but...we can actually survive a hunt without Merlin’s stew." He said. Gwaine gasped in fake shock.
"We don’t need a servant," Arthur piped up immediately, chest puffing out in defiance "Hell, with how Merlin is, I’ve pretty much been without a servant for years!"
"Great!" Percival said and jerked his head "Then let’s go."
Or
The knights go on a hunt without a servant because Merlin is sick. Obviously it goes fantastic.

They forget to pack things

They cant light a fire
Tbey cant cook n so on
Merlin meanwhile takes care of a sorcerer
Knights returnate n find a dirty Merlin who lies he fell out a window
Lancelot purpisly didnt pack things n left the insructions behind to make others apreaciate Merlin more -

they ask around n no one has ever seen Merlin drunk
they take him to a taver n force him to drink
Mer is light weight n gets drunk on 1 cup
he keeps trying to run away
he rambles on
he talk a lot n reveal a lot of things but they dont understand most of it
he tells em Gwaine is a noble, dat Arthur keeps embarrassing him, a bit about his father n how Arthur killed the woman he loved
strange things keep happening dat can only be explained by magic
they take him back to put him to sleep
Merlin tells Gwaine he might have brought Lancelot back
knights get no sleep cuz strange magic things keep happening around the citadel
nothing harmful
Merlin shows up in Arthurs chambers with a mad headache n no memory of wat happened
Gwaine was making his rounds when he found a sleeping Lancelot in rusty armour n the throne room
he realizes Merlin is a sorcerer n tells Lance to hide
Lance is coonfized n asks if Merlin has been drinking lol
