The Greenwood Academy of Dance was run by the elusive Thranduil Oropherion.
Bard learnt quite a lot about the mysterious Thranduil Oropherion from the gossiping mothers with children at the school.
And the most interesting thing he learnt was that no one actually knew much of anything about him.
Thranduil, a legendary dancer, had opened up the Greenwood Academy of Dance, and people had flocked to it. He used to hold lessons personally, running master classes and beginners classes alike. But five years ago there had been a fire at the academy – a bad one, Bard remembered hearing about it. By some miracle there had been no fatalities and the school had been quickly rebuilt.
But no one had seen so much as a glimpse of Thranduil since.

It's a good idea after all; all they have to do is pretend to be in love over the Yuletide period and Bilbo's family and suitors will surely leave him alone after that. It's perfect! And nothing can possibly go wrong, right? Certainly nothing as preposterous as falling for one another for real...

Now, without his crossbow in your face and the undead approaching, you could properly look the archer over. He was dressed practically, long dark sleeves and pants under a worn leather vest. He knew how to blend in. Probably a hunter based on the weapon and how easily he’d snuck up on your little camp.
He wasn’t terribly tall, but he looked strong–the shirt tight around his arms and chest. He kept his expression stony, but he continued to hold your gaze, blue eyes locked in on your own. He was a man who’d done things and seen even more.
But then so had you. -

The problem with dismissing and at best barely tolerating squibs and muggleborns is that the wizarding world never realized that every muggleborn has at least one squib ancestor in the last two generations or that these squibs still carry the family magic they are unable to wield. The totems are sought out either during a ritual at age seven or during extensive meditation. Usually, because of the nature of children, they never focus enough on these totems to befriend them and for them to claim them in return.
There are sometimes though when a child has nothing but time to spend. One such time occurs when Harry Potter, the child of a muggleborn and a pureblood, a child who had never lived with them long enough to be taught that he’s a Potter and therefore wasn’t taught to expect a gryphon. When he falls into a healing coma enforced by his own body at age four, he has no expectations, so he doesn’t subconsciously seek any singular totem above any others- the usual reason only one family magic is accepted. He attracts them all and he’s curious enough, lonely enough, to befriend every animal that visits him in his mind, no matter how faint they are or how distant. It changes more than his state of loneliness. -
