Summary
Dean Winchester was going to die.
When he didn't present at sixteen as expected, Dean was illegally recorded as an Alpha. He has known for a long time that he wasn't one, but to stay and protect his young brothers, Dean accepted the lie and hid his true nature until it couldn't be hidden anymore and his first heat came.
None of it mattered after Dean was framed and sent to prison.
An Alpha prison.
Shot full of suppressants that would give him at most a month until his true nature was revealed, Dean was thrown into a dangerous world where if even one Alpha discovered the truth, Dean's life would be forfeit.
Fate has a funny way of working though, in even the filthiest, most dangerous of places.

Summary
Sure, him and Cas aren’t anything, not really, not in any way that mattered. Cas didn’t belong to him. They have only known each other in the darkened nights that they held secret between them, only knew each other in the way their hands have spent three years mapping each other’s skin.
But that's all they did. They didn’t talk, they didn’t belong to each other. Just a convenient fuck when no one else was available.

Dean and Castiel have had a situationship for three years. The situation being they call each other whenever they have an itch to scratch and no one else around. For Dean, it has been more for a long time.
He has been in love with Castiel almost the whole time, never believing that he could ever truly be good enough for Cas.
It might take the wedding of their brothers to finally bring the truth of Dean's feelings to the front.
Maybe he will be able to get his happily ever after with Castiel after all.

The voice from behind him seemed to come from his darkest nightmares. Gods, it still sounded the same. Low, nasally, and his name full of want.
Dean was used to being wanted in a way, used to his looks and his power being enough to make people look at him and desire if they knew.
It wasn’t want for him though. He wasn’t sure anyone had ever wanted Dean just for Dean before.Or.
Dean has always hated the curse of his last name.
As one of the few Familiars born with the level of power Dean has, he has been on the run for years from the one who wishes to force him into a bond that he has no interest in. When he is forced once again to escape before that fate is forced on him, a pull that he can't explain lands him right on the doorstep of the first person Dean has ever met who seems to want him for who he is, not what he can give them.
However one who hunts Dean will not be easily stopped, and it will threaten everything Dean is trying to build.

It’s not that Dean wants to be unmated.
Dean does want to be caught, someday. He wants his own mark, his own pups, he wants to smell their unpresented scents mixed in with the smell of mate and home, he wants to build his nest big enough they can all curl together — shifted or not — to know without a doubt that he is loved and wanted.
Dean wants.
Dean also needs to get his fucking shit together.
He shakes his head, trying to dispel the melancholy that has been getting worse the last year, ever since he participated in a particular chase in Kansas, when he had gone to visit the Novak pack. It had been the one and only time Dean had caught a scent that made him almost trip, something salty and dark that he hasn't forgotten even a year later. And he hasn’t caught even a hint of it again, hadn’t even got more than a fleeting taste that day either.
Man, since then Dean has been feeling his unmarked flesh more and more acutely. But he still runs, because he likes it. And he does hope that someday something changes.

If only the blue-eyes of Castiel Krushnic, one of the brothers who runs the bakery, didn't make his inner omega feel so god damned safe, and made him want to trust him to protect those he cares about the most.
