Summary
Preening was the most intimate ritual in avian cultures. Done only by family and partners, it was more than simple hygiene for avians. It was a gesture of trust and love. There were very specific customs about where they were done, what words were spoken to cue the ritual, and who could do it. Traditions varied slightly, but the core concepts remained the same. Among avians, requests to preen and be preened were expected to be semi-frequent, in order to maintain the deep bonds that avians kept with each other.
Or, 5 times Bruce preens his birds and 1 time they preen him.

Red Hood’s modulated voice is bone-chilling. Nearly every sleaze-bag in Crime Alley had become accustomed to the gravely robotic nature of it. The unnatural shifts in his words and the variations in pitch being just ever so slightly off putting. Borderline uncanny, yet everyone who’s heard it knows there’s a human behind that voice. A man who choses to blow a hole through someone’s skull without so much of an afterthought.
Though, no one had ever heard that voice scream.
Not until tonight.
Or, Red Hood is captured, Nightwing saves him and while helping him afterwards, puts the wrong puzzle pieces together and confronts him which does not go quite how he planned.

He had been given numorous responsibilities after that, like keeping the existence of two enemy camps a secret, finding the doors of death, you know, the usual. Nico wanted a well-earned nap, but because he was so good at his job, his father assigned him another great resposibility. To check out the "Voodoo shit" that's happening in the gastly city of Gotham. The very city which every demigod was ordered to stay away from.

Summary
Robert Robertson III is used to the constant pain that accompanies his daily life after so many years of being Mecha Man, but when a particularly bad flareup has him lethargic at work. An unlikely savior comes to Robert's rescue providing him with some grade A cooking and eventually a massage that leaves Robert wanting more from the cocky flame hero. The two bicker, the two chat, then ultimately Robert spends the night at Flambae's place.
