Summary
It's been all of one (1) day and Oscar thinks he might be forming an unhealthy attachment to the guy who saved his life (and then needed saving). Not like the bar was high after his previous experiences with other groups/loners, but Lando more than exceeded expectations. Kind, smart, caring... Oscar feels like a teenager again, gushing over someone he's only just met. He keeps waiting for Lando to do something wrong, to reveal an ulterior motive or drop the facade, but it never happens.
Honestly, it's kind of terrifying. People who want to hurt you are easier to predict than those who don't, and Oscar's been burned before.
Oscar's sprained ankle heals and he's trying very hard not to fall for the easygoing Brit who insists on taking care of him.

Summary
Liam saw the plane, turned to urge a nearby family to take cover, and everything turned white for a fraction of a second. The next time he opened his eyes, he was sprawled on the concrete with gravel digging into his cheek. As members of law enforcement were wont to do, Liam did his best to direct as many people as he could to safety before finally collapsing on the hood of his patrol car. When he looked up, the clouds themselves had parted for the broad head of a mushroom rising from London's ashes. He reached for his radio, joined the general frequency, and broadcast a request for all officers in the area to reconvene. No-one answered.
An indeterminate amount of time later, Liam came to in an unfamiliar environment. Someone was talking to him, wrapping him in a foil emergency blanket. Exhaustion pulled Liam under.

Logan Sargeant is used to being pitied. His reputation often precedes him, earning him sympathetic looks he can't stand. Retiring from active duty at 23 after being shot on one of his first high stakes callouts does that to a man. Now he just helps out at the local animal shelter/emergency vet clinic, run by none other than Alexander Albon, and occasionally helps train new recruits how to handle firearms. It's alright, he supposes, but he can't help feeling cheated out of the life he should've led. He should be out there, serving the public and maintaining order
All he's ever wanted is to be needed, not pitied. Then pathogen X sweeps the global stage, turning everything on its head. Now people need him more than ever, but it's not the people he wants to save. Alex is in trouble. Oh, and there's some photographer they pick up along the way. A dog too, don't forget the dog.

Summary
No-one said the apocalypse was going to be easy, but it was just one inconvenience after another. He finds somewhere safe to sleep? Joke's on him, he has a hundred neighbors and they're all rats. Lucky painkiller find? All the foil in the blister pack is tattered to bits and they're covered in filth. He gets saved by a group? They just wanted his stuff. A dog nuzzles his hand? It's dead the next morning. Beautiful sunrise? Torrential rain. What a load of shite.
Sick and tired of being used by others, Lando lives on his own in a tiny studio apartment he found the key for. One day, during a supply run to the city, he stumbles across another person and his life changes for the better.
The end of the world sucks until it doesn't.
