Summary
Every night for nearly a week now, Evie had been dreaming about the Medjai warrior, Ardeth Bay. She never got to know him very well, but she felt that a bond of some kind had been created between them by the experience. Maybe that could explain the dreams, but she had no idea why or how her mind would conjure scenes of Ardeth dirty and with blood on his face and his hands tied behind him…
A year after their first meeting, Evie and Rick start having unsettling dreams about Ardeth. Worried, they go to Egypt to try to find and rescue him, and they realize how strongly they all are linked to each other.

Nandor grinned back, overjoyed and nearly overwhelmed with fondness at Guillermo’s desire to be his husband. He thought Guillermo would assume Nandor wanted a wife, but he clearly knew Nandor as no one else did. “Thank you, my morning star.”
“You don’t need to thank me for accepting your proposal,” Guillermo said, still smiling that wonderful smile. “I said yes because I wanted to.”
"I meant—you knew that I wanted a husband. And I’m grateful for that. I’ve never had a husband, as you know, but I want to be your wife and appreciate you as a wife should appreciate his husband.”
Nandor proposes, thinking he will be the wife and Guillermo the husband. Guillermo is very confused at first, but Nandor tries to explain...

Nandor glanced at Guillermo, and he had an idea. He kissed Guillermo’s cheek lightly, then his nose when Guillermo turned to look at him. “I think I know a way to help make things easier for you.”
“Really?”
Nandor just nodded, smiling, as he stood up. He took a deep breath as he realized how ridiculous this could be, then took on his bat form.
“Nandor—” Guillermo started, sounding a little hurt, watching as Nandor flew around the small space of his room. And then Nandor was right there, clinging to the sleeve of his soft sweater with his claws. “Hey, Nandor,” Guillermo said softly, and half laughed. He lifted his other hand and gently stroked Nandor’s head and back with his thumb. “You’re kinda cute like this.”
Nandor notices how shy and conservative Guillermo is about physical affection in public. He devises a clever plan to help rid Guillermo of his fears...

Gregor's not the only one who can be reincarnated. A chance encounter at a stable yard reunites Nandor with his beloved John. But John's current owner is petty and spiteful, and they run the risk of being separated yet again.
Guillermo doesn't like horses, but he does like Nandor (in a friend kind of way, not in--well, not really friend-friend, more, you know, master and familiar, caring about, I mean, y'know). It's up to him to make sure that this time, the story has a happy ending.
