Summary
Julian is the king of a prosperous kingdom.
Overwhelmed and tired of ruling, he decides to go on a luxury cruise for his 25th birthday, leaving his most trusted (and not so trusted) advisors in charge of the kingdom until his return.
Unfortunately, a few days into his trip, a storm hits and he goes overboard, only to be rescued by some totally not cursed pirates, why would you think they are cursed?
Desperate to not be murdered, he makes up the identity of Jaskier, a bard/favoured courtier of King Julian, who would clearly pay these pirate ruffians very handsomely to have him back.
Julian, now Jaskier, may be safe now, or as safe as you can be on the high monster invested seas, but is his heart? And when the time comes, will he be able to leave behind the freedom of Jaskier for the responsibility of Julian?
Or:
Julian goes on vacation, Julian goes overboard, gets rescued by Pirates and falls in Love with First Mate Geralt of Rivia. His advisors try really hard not to fuck up the kingdom in the background.

Summary
Will Byers is just trying to get through his first few months in Lenora without a heartbreak related meltdown or a PTSD episode. He doesn't expect to run into Mike's clone, let alone become best friends with him.
Richie Tozier is in Lenora after getting his heart broken by his best friend. He's not looking to get a new best friend, let alone get dragged into another supernatural-related situation where the lives of everyone he cares about are at stake, but Will Byers somehow worms his way into his life.
Or,
The deeply stupid, Will and Richie become gay best friends and make it everyone's problem. Specifically, eventually Mike and Eddie's problem.

Summary
Robin pops a cassette into its case with more force than necessary. “Okay,” she says, because she’s annoyingly observant in all the ways Will wishes she wasn’t. “Your face just went full ‘my life is ending.’ What happened in the last four seconds?”
Will swallows. “Mike was there.”
“Okay… and?”
“And he was—” Will gestures vaguely in the direction Mike vanished. “Looking at us. Then he walked away really fast.”
Robin’s face does something complicated and knowing, but she smooths it over before he can parse it. “Hmm,” she says.
That’s all. Just “hmm,” like she’s mentally filing the information away under Wheeler Nonsense. Which, if Will is being honest, is a probably a huge fucking file.

Summary
“I’m just so proud of you, baby.” He feels a weight lifted off his shoulders- which is ridiculous, he’s ridiculous for thinking that she would be anything but proud. Nonetheless, he feels relieved. He smiles, fiddling with his fingers again.
“It’s really nothing.” He says, “Mike keeps talking about how they’re innate but…but they’re not. They’re siphoned, from Vecna.” The mention of his name makes Joyce’s eyes go wide.
“Well, last I checked no one else can do that.” She shrugs, her eyes still wide. Will chuckles, looking at the floor, “Hey, all I’m saying is that I think you need to have a little more trust in yourself.” She leans forward, putting a hand on his cheek. He leans into it, into the warmth of her hand, “You didn’t fail, okay?” She says, and he nods, even though he doesn’t really believe it, “You saved Mike- all your friends. You did that, baby.” She shakes her head, “Not Vecna, just you.”
Will can feel himself tearing up for about the millionth time that night, “I can make it right.” He settles on, “We just need a new plan, a better plan.”
Right, a better plan. Easier said than done.

Summary
Shin glares at her, he hates this. He’s gonna request a partner transfer, he’s really gonna do it this time. This idiot can work with someone else. He sighs, taking a few bleeding seconds to calm himself down, breathing in… and out. He looks over to Lu, crossing his arms and looking at the chip in her hand.
“Whatever, come on, we need to take it back–”
He doesn’t manage to finish his sentence as before either of them can do anything Shin gets pulled back, his head hit and slammed into a wall. Lu’s eyes widen for a brief moment stepping forward to help him but she gets promptly thrown to the ground and the chip flies out of her hand and stops midair. Heisuke shoots at what Shin assumes is something but he can’t tell, he can’t read any thoughts, he can’t sense any sort of violence or emotion and–
Oh, it’s that bastard.
